Vehicle Detail
Too many projects too fast means I need to liquidate some assets to help the other projects along. Therefore, I am selling my 1970 Chevrolet C20 truck! I got this truck about a year ago with the intention of using it as a work truck. Well, the truck is just too neat to me to destroy it with work, so I was going to restore it. Other projects came first and got in the way, then I got a different truck, and this one has just sat on the back burner and simply didn't get done. Now I need to pass it on to someone else who will, hopefully, bring it back to it's former glory. First of all, please understand this is an old farm vehicle, a work truck. It isn't new, nor is it a perfect body. There are dents, dings, scrapes, holes, and rust. I do, however, have new rocker panels (under the doors) for both sides to install as well as new cab corners for both sides. Not pictured is a set of new window and interior door opening handles as well as a new set of tail lights w/reverse lights and trim for the tail lights. The truck looks good coming down the road, but up close is another story. The paint is a rattle can job with colors from Home Depot. The interior gauges were redone by a previous owner, but everything works. I just two months ago put a new heater core and blower motor in the truck. I was still driving it a few times a week around town and it got cold...so had to fix the heat. Now everything on the truck works...heater..lights..turn signals...brake lights...wipers...etc. There is no radio nor ashtray...these were missing when I purchased the truck and I don't smoke nor needed music so I left it alone. Good dash pad..good sun visors...obviously the seat needs recovering or a Autozone cover thrown on it. Door panels were off because I was going to have them recovered...but they are included as well and are shown in pics. As far as the body, the pictures tell the rest of the story. As far as driveability of the truck, I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere. The only thing I've done to it other than routine maintenance is change the carburetor about 7 months ago. It had a Holley that was acting up (plus was a manual choke), so I went and got a brand new off the shelf Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke. The truck also has an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake on it. There is some aftermarket cam in the truck because it has a great lope (very, very streetable..just sounds nice) but I don't know what it is. There are a set of long tube headers, but I think the drivers side had a leak near the collector. The front brakes were changed by a previous owner to power disc brakes off a newer model...she stops just fine! I would change the pads soon, they are squealing sometimes. Rears seem fine. The transmission was changed and now has a 700r4 transmission with overdrive. The truck is great on the highway with this trans, but sometimes it shifts slowly. It always shifts fine and drives fine, but sometimes it shifts like an old man's car. The truck starts right away, every time. There are two sets of tires/wheels that come with the truck. The set on it right now are from a 2000-ish Chevrolet with 8 lug wheels also...I'd assume a Suburban or 2500 truck. The other set is shown in the pics, just the plain steelies with some tires on them. Neither set is great, but they will get you wherever you need to go. The truck is completely driveable and I drive it weekly. Odometer miles are unknown because of the aftermarket speedometer and gauges. Who knows... The truck is available to be seen in High Point, North Carolina any time during this auction. It is listed locally so until the reserve (which is crazy low) is met I reserve the right to cancel the auction early. Clean and clear title IN MY NAME is IN HAND...no scary title issues with this truck! If you have any other questions or need more pictures please just ask, I will do whatever I can to help. NO SHIPPING, LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. I will assist in loading the vehicle or helping your shipper get it.On Mar-28-14 at 13:08:56 PDT, seller added the following information: To clear up some messages that I have received:1. I did not paint the bedliner black, that is Duplicolor roll in bedliner.2. The doors shut fine, yes the drivers also...you just have to shut it with some force because of the new weatherstripping...it's larger than the original. I have put two boxes of the good (steel lined...29.99 a box) weatherstripping on both doors when I did the heat. I just forgot about it at the listing3. When I did the carburetor, I went ahead and replaced the fuel filter (of course) and fuel pump as well with a lifetime warranty one from O'Reillys. 4. The reserve is not supposed to be advertised people, please quit asking... On Mar-30-14 at 06:40:34 PDT, seller added the following information: OK...everyone keeps asking.... We are $25.00 away from the reserve at 9:40 am EST on Sunday....the vehicle will go!!! Don't miss your chance!
