Vehicle Detail

First, a little bit about your seller. I am not a car dealer, just a BMW enthusiast. I've sold more than 20 cars and at least a half dozen motorcycles on ebay....mostly BMWs and European motorcycles, but I've also sold several other cars for friends as well. Check my feedback. If you don't want to buy this car, just enjoy feasting and drooling on the pictures. This is a real German performance car disguised as a family sedan. There just wasn't anything else out there that even came close in 1984. In fact, it was the fastest production sedan in the US at the time: It still remains a high performance (did I mention fast and agile?) sport sedan 30 years later. HISTORY/COLOR/MILEAGE: VIN: WBADB7401E1194096. Delphin gray on Pearl beige. Just reached 111,000 miles. This car belonged to one owner before me and lived its entire life in Fresno, CA before I brought it to Atlanta. When the owner died, his son donated the car to charity. I bought it from the charity organization. It's not seen so much as a sprinkle, let alone rain since I've owned it. CONDITION: I hope the pictures speak for themselves. I've owned four e28s over the years, and this is by far the nicest, cleanest example I've had the privilege of driving. Everything on the car is completely stock except for a K&N air filter and an e39 shift knob. I would drive this car back to California today. BODY/PAINT: I'd rate the paint easily a 9 on a scale of 10. There is one spot about the size of my hand at the very back of the roof where the clear coat has faded. Other than that, it's straight, straight, straight. I've been unable to find a single door ding. Also, the leading edge of the hood is without stone chips. It has no rust anywhere. That includes underneath the car. DRIVETRAIN: The car has no leaks of any kind. It doesn't burn any oil, and the engine is smooth and strong in all RPM ranges. I gave it a synthetic oil change, and added Redline fluids in the tranny and differential. The shifter isn't sloppy, and the transmission shifts into all gears as it should. The clutch feels like a big 6 clutch. It has a recent Bosal exhaust from the cat back. WHEELS/TIRES: I don't know what brand the wheels are. They're 15" and stamped "JJJ" and "Japan" on the inside, and have that period look about them. Bridgestone tires have at least 80%, maybe 90% remaining tread. INTERIOR/INSTRUMENTS/AC: Car has never been smoked in. The leather is in awesome shape. No cracks or tears. As you'll see below, even the driver's seat bolster isn't worn. The dash has zero cracks. Zero. The A/C has been converted to R134a and worked fine the one time I tried it. The headliner is in perfect shape. I couldn't find exact color matching floor mats, but they're brand new from Bavarian Auto. All windows operate perfectly without hesitation and the central locking system works as it should. The odometer is working. WHAT DOES IT NEED? All gauges were working fine until a couple of weeks ago, when the coolant gauge went dead. While it worked, the temperature never got higher than 1/3rd even while idling in traffic. It's probably just a bad sensor or a bad ground. The radio only works in AM mode. It won't switch to FM. I tried a cassette (yes, I still have some), but it didn't play. The left lower control arm outer bushing is starting to seep grease. All other bushings are fine and there's no vibration in the steering wheel upon braking. PRICE/SHIPPING: Highest bid over $8,500 gets this beautiful classic. Shipping is at buyer's expense. I paid $750 to have it shipped from Los Angeles to Atlanta, so depending on where you live, it should be that or less. PAYMENT TERMS: Bank to bank transfer, certified check, or cash only. Paint has one flat spot on the very back of the roof where clearcoat has faded. It's about the size of my hand It always rests nice and protected.
