Up for your consideration AT NO RESERVE is this EXTREMELY RARE 1980 Buick LeSabre TURBOCHARGED 2 door Sport Coupe. according to the little info i have found on these there appears to be only 1,277 of these produced in 1980. All of them came standard with console shifter and bucket seats but this one was ordered with the optional column shift and 55/45 split bench. this was an additional $120 option in 1980 according to the included WINDOW STICKER for this car. this car was the predecessor for the next gen BUICK GRAND NATIONAL, GNX, REGAL T-TYPE and the like. this is a super cool car with a ton of potential. it should probably be completely restored and put in a museum in Flint, Michigan where its life began. also included in this auction is all the paperwork that was found in the the car and you can see in the picture provided. I HAVE MORE PICTURES IF YOU NEED THEM BUT COULD ONLY LIST 24 IN THE AUCTION! as for the current condition of this rare car it is NOT perfect. it does show signs of wear and tear and will need at minimum a good tune up. it IS DRIVABLE in its current condition as i just drove it 250 miles one way just days ago and had no issues getting from point A to point B. current known issues are as follows: relay for the heat and ac controls needs replace (may have this done myself prior to auctions end) cruise control indicator light appears to have a loose connection as it goes in and out of being lit when cruise is in use (yes the cruise control itself does work) turbo indicator lights do not appear to be working as i have not seen them come on at all the car sputters from a dead stop and i have to ease into the gas pedal or it will sputter while at highway speed it will occasionally do what i call (caugh) if around the 50-65mph range. at interstate speeds of 70-75 i did not notice this and it seemed to improve after fueling with 91 ocatane fuel vs 87 ocatane. dome light bulb needs replaced both front and rear filler panels (see pics) needs replaced as they had gotten brittle over time and the rear filler is gone completely and the front has large missing sections. i have been told these are available from an aftermarket company and have the product numbers needed for all replacement filler panels weather stripping is aged paint is thin and has several nicks, scrapes and light scratches (see pics) rear deck lid struts need replaced as they are weak and will not hold the trunk lid open on their own carpet (rear section - see pics) is in poor condition and appears to have had something spilled on it well that is what i know but if you have any additional ?'s feel free to ask and i will try to answer any questions i can. now for the pros of this RARE TURBO BUICK! LOW PRODUCTION # INCLUDES SEVERAL PAPER DOCUMENTS INCLUDING WINDOW STICKER AND OWNERS MANUAL IN DASH CLOCK WORKS! POWER ANTENNA WORKS! Both front pans are effected and the rear passenger has a spot too. the Drivers Front is the most effected of the 3. FRAME LOOKS GOOD. also please note this vehicle is sold AS IS / WHERE IS and there is NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR OTHERWISE one other question that has been asked is if the turbo lights do not light due to a bad or loose electrical connection or is there a problem with the turbocharger not spooling up to speed. i do not know the correct answer so i will assume the worst and that it may be the turbocharger itself as while driving it i do not hear the turbo or feel any boost but keep in mind i am IN NO WAY FAMILIAR with how this model should sound or respond. it is only rated around 170 HP when new and is a heavy car as well. thanks again for everyones interest in this COOL CLASSIC and remember if you have any questions feel free to ask and i will do my best to get you an answer the best i can!
