Vehicle Detail

Here we have a 1974 MGB roadster. I bought this car 3 years ago from the original owner. He bought it for his wife to drive back and forth to college here in Birmingham. The car only has 23,176 miles on it. When I bought it 3 years ago it had 20,996 miles. The car is very original. The things that have been replaced are as follows: Seat foams, carpet, top, side view mirrows, tires, sun visors, and rear over rider. The normal things have been replaced due to it not being used as much: clutch and brake master cylinders, wheel cylinders, pads and shoes and tires. I have added only chrome trim rings on the wheels and coco floor mats. The car has the original Tundra paint and Autumn Leaf interior. This is a very early '74 model with the regular over riders. The paint has the usual pings and scratches. It has at sometime been lightly tapped in the rear tag area and broke the paint a little. It has a small low place on the trunk by the emblem, may have been by some ones hand. It has NO, none what so ever, rust. It is beautiful underneath. I have never seen another MG like this one that hasn't had any work done on it. All the glass is perfect, all the instruments are beautiful. The dash, underneath liners and console, perfect. The seats, door panels, beautiful. The rear bulkhead has not been butchered. The engine area is all original. All smog stuff is still there. It even has the last 3 digits of the car number written on the bonnet from the assembly line at the factory. The only thing that is wrong inside the car is the horn as quit and the rheostat switch for the dash lights won't turn. All dash lights work however. It still has Lucas headlights. In the trunk, both tonneau covers, jack, lug wrench, tonneau bars and the original spare tire. It has never been on the car or on the road. The car runs and drives great. It does not pull or wander. If you remember what it was like to drive a new B, this one drives like that. All lights work, fan, instruments, everything. This is a very nice MGB. The paint still has a decent shine just with some dings and a few scratches. If you know car collecting today, you know this is what's hot right now. I'm selling this car because I may restore another '67 MGB roadster to go along with my '67 BGT. The car does not have a title as it was the last year in Alabama before titles were issued. If you want to talk, call me, Bill @ 205-288-7142. I live in Trussville, Al. That is about 20 miles north of Birmingham. This is a unique car as there are not many low mile, original cars left. The reserve is very reasonable so please don't ask me to give it out. I'm sure I've left something out so if you have questions, call or e-mail me. Thanks, BillOn Mar-02-14 at 19:18:15 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that I have the original bill of sale, owners manual and passport to service. The passport to service has the metal owners plate with it. BillOn Mar-04-14 at 12:26:30 PST, seller added the following information: I don't know if I mentioned it or not but this car is ready to go. It needs nothing at all. It runs great. The previous owner spent over $4000.00 on the car doing the brakes, hydraulics etc. to make it reliable to drive. I've been driving it for almost 3 years and it runs like a new one. You'll love it. BillOn Mar-04-14 at 18:19:28 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention a couple of things. First, this car still has the clip or holder behind each seat that holds the seat belt latch. It's hard to explain but you don't ever see them. Also, the seat belt buzzer does not work but the seat belt light does work. Also, the seat belts do show some stains or wear, not a lot but some. Also the pedal pads show very little wear. The door trim on the inside is color keyed to match the interior, autumn leaf, rare. These are things you don't often see except on low mileage cars. The paint on this car is original and does show some age. Not fading but a few scuffs and scratches. However, a car is original only once, that is what sold me on this car. On Mar-04-14 at 18:22:17 PST, seller added the following information: One more thing, I will say the reserve is less than $10,000.00. I do believe this car is worth more than that and will only go up in value as time passes and the car is left original. BillOn Mar-06-14 at 18:24:44 PST, seller added the following information: I called the original owner today, March 6th., Thursday, because I wanted to confirm a couple of concerns I had. First, he did, again, confirm that the miles were correct. He said other than his wife driving it at college, they drove the MG very little. He said they did drive it out of Alabama just once. He said he would crank it up and run the engine and on occasion, drive it around the block to keep everything fresh. The second concern was, is that original paint and has it ever been wrecked. He said, other than that little bump by the tag, it has never been in an accident or painted. He told me this when I bought it but I wanted to hear it one more time. I hope this puts some fears to rest. Thanks, Bill Wingard.
