Vehicle Detail
MotorTrend's 4x4 of the year for 1989. Classic car in daily driver condition! Pearl white, original paint. All leather interior still in nice shape-- no tears / rips, just some fading from age. Odometer stopped working but has around 140,000. Also has a sunroof and a back glass wiper that do not currently work-- sunroof seems to be off the track as the motor does engage and the wire to the wiper / back glass heat was snipped / broken at some point. Has power locks, though front passenger lock may need to be engaged manually (loose wire?), power windows (all work except back passenger window), and dual power seats. AWD plus a 4-low option-- both are super strong and engage great. Crawls over most anything with it's ground clearance and independent articulation for each wheel. Very confident in bad weather. AC and heat work great. Automatic transmission, previous owner replaced head gaskets, timing chain and gears, water pump, power steering pump, and hoses; we have put in a new starter and changed out all belts, and had new brakes put on about 6 months ago. Tires are not new but are in good, serviceable condition. Idling may need to be adjusted as it idles unevenly, but drives great and strong. Super smooth ride and amazing visibility from the driver's seat. Lots of cargo space, plus back seats fold down for even more room if needed. A strong vehicle for daily driving (currently driving back and forth to work daily) or an easy restoration project for a Land Rover lover as just details need to be addressed to make it a showroom specimen. Selling because I need something that can haul a loaded horse trailer. Really hate to let the Rover go as it's the most comfortable 4wd vehicle I've ever driven, but choices have to be made! Reasonable reserve. This is a nice classic vehicle with plenty of life left. Call 770-601-6065 and ask for Joe or leave a message with your phone number if you have questions or would like to come meet the Rover in person. More photos to come. Sold as-is, where is. Come take a look or take it for a spin. Also listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early should the Rover be sold. On Jan-28-14 at 15:49:22 PST, seller added the following information: I have added a few more pictures; the 2 in the snow were taken today-- the Rover doesn't miss a beat in this snow / icy weather with the AWD. Had someone ask a couple of questions I'd not thought of so I am adding the information here: The Rover has shocks, not air suspension. There is hardly any rust in the undercarriage. The only light that has come on has been the oil light; it has popped on and off every once in awhile, but I have not needed to add oil between oil changes. Please feel free to ask any other questions :-) On Feb-01-14 at 20:16:26 PST, seller added the following information: Added a few more pictures of inside of Rover. Has seating for 5 or pull down the arm rests for 2 super comfortable "lounge chairs" in the back seat. Also forgot to mention that this Rover does have the medallion mentioned below in this excerpt from www.rangerovers.net: "Many 1989 (and a small # of other model year) Range Rovers had a small round Great Divide Medallion added to the left side (some were added to the right side) of the tailgate by dealers to commemorate the Great Divide Expedition held in August of 1989.... The medallion was just over two inches in diameter and said Range Rover at the top and Tread Lightly at the bottom, with Great Divide Expedition in the middle." Keep in mind that this classic will turn 25 this year and there's probably small, 25-year old things here and there that are missing / wrong / etc that I may have forgotten to mention (like the fact that the 4-low gear shift knob and the gas cap are aftermarket). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask as I'd like this vehicle's next owner to love it as much as we have. When you meet it in person, I'm sure you'll be taken with it :-)
