Hello, This 1981 Suzuki Gs 550 motorcycle has been converted to the Cafe racer Style. 1.) The frame has been stripped , rust proofed and re-sprayed. 2.) The original tank was replaced with a used to be new off the shelf gas tank. 3.) The entire charging system has been recently overhauled, e.g., new generator/rectifier, battery, tender, rewiring and so on. {The only real flaw of these bikes were the electrical system; this has been taken care of with these modifications.} 4.) Tarozzi Rear Set foot pegs/controls have been added. 5.) The bike has a custom hand made Cafe Racer seat by Carpy. 6.) Recently bought tires--plenty of tread. 7.) The old exhaust has been replaced with a then- new four into one performance exhaust (Motad from the UK). Additionally, the progressive fork springs, oil and fork seals have all been recently replaced as well as the front & rear brake pads and fluid. Plenty of hours have been spent cleaning, polishing and painting parts. The Internal engine parts have been left untouched as the motor runs sweetly. Recently, the bike has undergone a complete carburetor clean and overhaul by a local shop. Essentially, there has been lots of little touches added and work done e.g., hand grips, side mirrors, etc. The engine runs like a top; there ar no flat spots and it revs freely all the way to the 10,000 red line. Clean California title is in my name. Californian registration Aug 2013. This is a classic bike, the last of the naked Universal Japanese Motorcycles (UJM). Gets lots of attention as it looks just off the showroom floor in 1981. Also, I kept a lot of the original parts. Winner gets those too. NOTE: Pipes are bluing; that is not rust. Highest bid wins.
