Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Lotus Europa project car. It's not what I would consider a parts car as it's reasonably complete and in good condition, definitely worth saving. The chassis has a lot of surface rust but is very solid. The suspension and under body all look decent. The glassfibre body is in very good condition. There are no signs of major accidents or repairs. This car must have been a very early American import as it has the much prettier lower nose and headlamps than the later cars, a very rare and desirable feature. The doors open and shut nice. The yellow paint has lots of chips, scratches and various flaws but still looks quite nice. The front bumper is nice while the rear bumper has a lot of chrome flaking off. There is no windscreen installed or included and it is also missing the drivers side window, however included in this auction but not pictured is a spare drivers door with good glass still in it. The other glass is all in good condition. The Interior is fairly poor. It does have the wood dash and dash top. Both door panels are present and decent. The seats are fair with some splits. There is no center console. All the instruments are here. There is no pedal assembly. There is a steering wheel and column but it is not connected to the steering rack. The Engine is mostly complete. There is an exhaust manifold but no pipes or muffler. The carburetor is included but not bolted down. The engine does turn freely by hand and does feel like it has compression but is untested and condition unknown. The gearbox shifts through gears fine but is also untested. The original wheels are all decent and the tires all hold air. This Europa is very easy to move around and shouldn't be hard to load on a trailer. It does come with a clear title. This car has a lot going for it but is undoubtedly a big project and will need lots of effort to get back on the road. Please be sure you understand what you are buying before bidding. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to send me a message. I highly recommend and encourage a personal inspection if possible. The Europa can be viewed by appointment in Granite Falls WA (near Seattle). Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangements. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Must be picked up within 30 days of auction end. If you're interested in a more complete running and driving Europa I do have another one on ebay. Please see my other items and have a look. On Jan-20-14 at 20:14:28 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the riveted on VIN tags have been removed from the front of this car. Today I located the VIN stamped in the chassis and it does match the title. I added a photo of the Vin. While looking for the Vin I also realized there are 3 cracks in the fiberglass under the rear bumper, one directly in the center and one on each side between the bumper and rear lamps. There is no material missing and shouldn't be too hard to repair. The car must have suffered a mild impact to the rear bumper. It's nothing very serious but I thought it should be mentioned. On Jan-24-14 at 05:56:07 PST, seller added the following information: Another slight update. I mistakenly wrote in the description that there is no center console when there actually is. It's been upholstered (stock they are not) the vinyl has a rip but condition is overall fare. You can clearly see the console in the pictures. Sorry for the confusion. I had it mixed up with another car.
