This auction is for a 1981 Honda CR250R Elsinore. I bought this as a basket case in 2009 and restored it to be a rider/racer. The only reason I'm parting with this is I'm downsizing the collection and moving into some other things. Engine-had the crankshaft rebuilt with a new rod assembly, had the cylinder bored to 67mm, new Wiseco piston, V-Force reed cage, new crank bearings, all gaskets and seals. New clutch plates. Ignition is a complete PVL system. A Mikuni VM36 roundslide carb feeds it. Jetted perfectly for about 1100 feet elevation. Clutch cover is an original 1981 part (aluminum...no corrosion issues) Engine and frame were painted with automotive 2-stage paint. Radiators are straight, square, and don't leak. New DG pipe and muffler. New seat cover and foam. Fenders are VMX brand and have minor scuffs from riding. Front "snowshovel" numberplate has a small scrape/hole in front lower corner-you can see it in the pics. Rear wheel, swing arm, shock linkage and brake assembly are from a 1982 CR250. Front and rear brake shoes and front brake cable are New Old Stock OEM Honda parts. Brakes are strong and progressive. Shock rebuilt with new seals, fresh oil and nitrogen. Forks rebuilt with new seals and fresh 20WT oil. No rust pitting on tubes. No leaks front or rear. New chain and sprockets. Wider pegs and throttle assembly from a late 90's CR. Dunlop MX51 on rear at 90% or better and a Maxxis on the front at about 90% as well. This bike is fast and reliable and is absolutely ready to ride or race in the AHRMA Ultima, or AMA Evo classes. I have probably only rode this bike 8-10 hours total since I finished it. Always ran on 110 octane race gas with good synthetic oil and a fuel filter at 40-1. Doesn't require race gas, but the quality is consistent and I don't worry about issues with pump gas. This bike is a showpiece that occasionally gets ridden and raced. It is in excellent, but used condition. There's some scratches and scuffs. Ohio did not title dirtbikes before 1999 so there is no title. I will provide a bill of sale. I require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit using Paypal within 48 hours of auction ending. Winning bidder will make arrangements with me to pick up bike and pay the balance in cash only at that time. I will not ship the bike. You must be willing to pick it up in Northeast Ohio with the balance of payment in cash! Sorry to be like this but I got burnt on a deal and I feel more comfortable dealing face to face. I may be able to drive a reasonable distance to meet up also depending on my schedule. Thanks.
