I want you to know exactly what you are buying so you can bid with confidence. Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a 1998 Volvo V70 Cross Country All Wheel Drive wagon. This wagon was one of the top trim packages for the mid-sized Volvos of the late 90s. The Cross Country package gave you AWD with a slightly taller suspension, Turbocharged engine, alloy wheels, heavy plastic body mouldings, upgraded interior, and was only available as a wagon. It is a very nice package that combines a lot of functional usability, luxury, safety, and a drivetrain that can handle any weather. As you can see in the pictures, this is a sharp looking wagon in very good condition for the age and miles. The silver paint shines nicely and the grey plastics are all in good shape and firmly attached. The rear hatch opens easily and has a lot of cargo area with several cubbies and a pair of mesh baskets on each side. The hatch door does not stay open; the piston that holds it has worn out. The alloy wheels look very nice and are wrapped in premium Goodyear Assurance all-season radials with good tread. This car has a nice roof rack and working fog lights. The interior of the car is also in very nice condition. The black leather seats are comfortable. The front seats are heated, a very nice option on cold winter days. The rear seats fold flat to make a very large cargo area. The carpets and headliner are in good shape. The power windows, locks, mirrors, and sunroof all work at the touch of a button. The factory stereo has good sound. The automatic climate control with heat and A/C works well. There are no unpleasant odors or cigarette smell. This Volvo wagon drives very nicely. The steering is responsive and straight. The suspension soaks up bumps well and gives good control and road feel. The 2.4L turbocharged 5 cylinder engine has a fantastic combination of power, fuel economy, and longevity. Under light throttle, this is a smooth engine that gets good fuel economy. Get into the gas and it gives you a lot of fun for a mid-sized wagon. You won’t be racing Corvettes, but it is certainly more engine than your average grocery getter. This engine seeps a little oil, which is common on these cars as they age. There is a check engine light for code p0410 and p0455. Both are emissions system codes, so they do not affect the way the engine runs, but they may have to be fixed for emissions inspection (check your local laws). A quick google search show both are usually not difficult or expensive repairs. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The all-wheel drive works with no need for the driver to do anything. The rear driveshaft does not make any noises. The ABS brakes and traction control work properly. I have been a big fan of the mid-late 90s Volvos, especially the mid-size V70 wagon and S70 sedan. They give you European luxury and quality without the headaches and costs of a Mercedes or Audi. Winning Bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us via eBay Message within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. Please do not leave a voicemail on the office phone.
Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyer we can issue a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $39 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance.
We offer a unique way of purchasing a vehicle. We sell vehicles to the public with No Reserve auction pricing. Most of the vehicles we sell are trade-ins at new car dealerships or high volume used dealerships in the area. We get a lot of interesting, unique vehicles and many that have minor flaws. We give every vehicle a thorough test drive and a visual inspection and describe what we see and feel to you in our descriptions. We try to provide as thorough and accurate a description as possible as well as including 40-60 photos. Understand however, that we are not professional mechanics and cannot predict the future.
There is additional risk in purchasing a vehicle this way versus buying a vehicle from a retail dealership that has been fully serviced and has a warranty. You will pay considerably less this way, but understand our vehicles are sold AS-IS and do not carry any sort of warranty.
