Vehicle Detail
A Texan since its inception at the GM plant in Arlington, Texas, this gem of a car has maintained its Texas residency throughout the years. Initially purchased by a couple in San Antonio who used the car only as a weekend automobile since the local bus route provided adequate weekday transportation, the car had very few miles when purchased by me, an Austin resident, in 1995. After primarily remaining idle for the ten years prior to 1995 due to the death of the husband, I embarked in 1997 on a mission to restore this beauty to prime condition. Restoration was completed in 1999 to the original factory specifications, including the red-ringed tires. The car has been visually well-loved and only driven on short drives, including some local car shows in and around Austin, Texas. When parked, it has been protected from the elements of weather in a residential garage. Within the last two months, a new fuel pump, an Edelbrock carburetor, and a complete tune-up has been installed and performed. The car has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and has a Hurst his-and-hers automatic transmission. Interior contains the original black vinyl seats. As mentioned in the short description, there is a small paint scratch on the passenger door and the fan switch currently only operates on low.
