This auction is for my 1962 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. The car was restored as a daily driver by the person I bought it from 7 years ago. He stripped the paint, did body work, and repainted it close to the original color. He also put in new rugs and put new fabric on the seats and door panels. The material used is more period correct and not original reproduction. As I stated, it was restored to be a daily driver, not a 100 point show car. That being said, she is a beautiful example of a true American classic and turns heads wherever we go. I hope to answer all questions in this ad and will be as thorough as possible. The exterior restoration is about 9 years old. There is a scrape on the passenger front fender from a run in with the garage and the chrome is off there and on the rear pass lower fin (I have the pieces). There are about 3 pea sized dings in the paint as well. There is some small bubbling behind the wheels on the front fenders and a little around the back window. All of the glass is intact and in good condition. The windshield does have a couple of pits in it. The bumpers are original and in very good condition. They do have some pitting and hazing, but for 51 years old, they present well. The lower trim has some dings. The front grille is intact and in great shape (it could use a good detailed polish). The hubcaps are in excellent condition. On the lip of the hood, there is some rust bubbles and a small run in the paint as well as a small nick. You can't see unless the hood is open. All floor panels, trunk pans, rockers and door jams are solid with no rust. When I had it serviced, the mechanic commented on how amazing the underneath looked (no rust). The cloth part of the interior was completely reupholstered in 2004. The metal on the dash is the original color and has some wear. The dash pad is original and there is some hairline cracking. The rug is 9 years old and the headliner is in excellent condition. The power seats and windows and antenna work great. The clock, radio, horn and some interior lights don't work. There was no A/C belt on when I bought it and I never put one on, so I don't know if it works or not. The vent window handle on the driver side fell off and the peg seems to be lost in the door. The window can be opened by hand. The trunk is definitely original and will need some work to make it look like new. The motor is the original 390. The engine has been detailed and had a complete overhaul (not a rebuild) in 2006 as well as a complete brake job. It always starts and runs strong and is a dream on the highway. It shifts smooth. There is a slight delay going into second, but I understand that it is common on these transmissions from 61-62's. I am selling my Caddy, because I don't have the time to use it as it should be used and it spends much too much time in the garage. It is bitter sweet, but it is time for this beauty to move on to a new owner who will use her and enjoy her as much as I have. I have done my best to describe the car.
