1971 AMC Javelin (Base)--- Vin Decode is as follows--A!A795H152555 -- A=AMC 1= 1971 A= 3 spd Automatic on Column Shift 795= Base Model Javelin (per AMC Archives) H= 304 2bbl engine----152555 is the build sequence number...Has code 61 black interior.--only 7105 base models made in 1971--3338 of which had the 304 engine in it... The car was runnung great when parked about 2 1/2 years ago, the engine is in very good condition, the transmission works great, the rear end is in great condition, has fairly new dual exhaust system, Tires are near new, Has traction bars, has sound barrier under dash area for road noise cut down,, The dash is out, was pulled to install sound deadner and to rear some cracks in the dash, some cracks have been fixed. The body is in fair to good condition, has some paint peeling off, which has some surface rust where paint it is peeling off in a few areas. I have not found any rust cancer, the rear wheel wells are solid, the trunk floor is solid, frame appears to be in solid condition. I drove this vehicle home and it drove straight and solid.The fenders have 401 engine tags, unknown who put them on, I believe the engine to be a 304 V-8 with an edlebrock 4 bbl carb, and an aluminum aftermarket intake.he car is dirty and dusty from sitting. The grille may have a small crack in the edge, I have at least one of the headlamp Bezel surrounds, I have numerous extra parts for interior and under dash, also I have a Rear Spoiler for the Decklid (AMX type) it needs a small area fixed. There is a 1971 Amc Javelin Service and Repair manuel in the car.-- The car will need the fuel tank and lines cleaned before running as to they have a varnish smell to the fuel from sitting a long time...This is all i know about the car...It is definately a very good restoration project
