For Sale: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe I have owned this car since 1975 and drove it daily until 1982. It has since been stored, awaiting that elusive restoration. I am at the age I need to downsize and get rid of future projects. This car was sold new in North Carolina and remained here for 56 years. I purchased this car from its 2nd owner and remains as I had purchased it. The previous owner changed the original V – 8 for a 327 cu, added a couple of extra gauges and swapper the steering wheel for a more desirable style. Other than that, the car is original. The carburetor and water pump were pilfered while in storage. The roof still has the original paint, which is wearing thin. The lower body has had one repaint prior to 1975. This repaint is coming off in spots revealing the original paint underneath. The interior is still original, showing all the usual wear in spots. The lower rocker panels, lower spots in front fenders, and front of rear fenders have the usual rust spots. There’s only one rust spot in trunk at the top of the LR wheel wall. Overall, I’ve always considered this Bel Air to be an excellent candidate for restoration to show status. The car is available for inspection by appointment.
