Vehicle Detail

This is a 1949 Chevy Suburban Carryall with the Clamshell rear doors. I've had it for a while, but haven't done much to it. I have a couple other project vehicles ahead of this one, so it's time to go. The previous owner had it since 1956. The engine runs fine with no strange noises. The oil looks fine with no water, sludge, or condensation in it. The emergency brakes work, but the rest of the brake system needs to be rebuilt. The truck has rust and spots of bondo here and there, but is pretty solid overall for an eastern truck. The previous owner welded sheet metal on the floor boards. The rear floor is not rotted through anywhere, which is rare for this area. Some of the "Battleship" Linolium in the rear is still in place. The truck has a 6 cyl. engine and a granny 4-speed tranny. The tires hold air, but need replacing. There is a modern wheel/tire on the right rear, but there is an original style wheel that goes with the truck to replace it. There is a crack in the drivers side window and one of the drivers side rear sliding windows. The driver and passenger windows roll up and down, but will need work. The passenger side door sags a little when you open it, so it will need hinge work. The original front seat is in the truck and will need complete restoration. The gauges are faded and I'm not sure if any of them work. The cable retractor on the drivers side tailgate needs help to retract, but the other side works fine. The upper hinges on the clamshell will need some work, but it opens and closes fine. This truck does NOT have either of the rear passenger seats included. I have the clear Virginia Title in hand. Most of these trucks I've had in the past were titled by the VIN on the engine, which is bad if the truck had an engine swap. This truck is titled by the VIN on the data plate, which shows it to be a half-ton 3100, built in September 1949. This truck is fairly rough, but would make a great project. You can't fake patina like this. Please ask any questions you have before bidding on this truck. I will tell you the complete truth and not misrepresent it in any way. The truck rolls easily and I will help load for you, or the shipper. This auction may be ended at any time, if the truck sells locally.
