Vehicle Detail

This is my friend's personal Volvo that I sold him last year. Then I found him the car he REALLY wanted...a 98 S70 T5 to play with. This one MUST GO!! Absolute sale, NO RESERVE!! As you can imagine with BOTH of us being Volvo lovers, EVERYTHING we performed on this car has been done properly. ALL the necessary servicing has been completed. The car is ready for anyone to drive, anywhere! First we started off with a rust-free typcial 98 V70XC wagon. Believe it or not, many Volvo lovers prefer to use these 98 versions for modifications. We never when that far with it, only making it Volvo reliable mostly to use on a daily basis. The car's exterior is an easy 8 out of 10 showing only minimal typical doordings and rockchips on the hood. Most of which were touched up. I'm no bodyman, but I don't see and signs of any major bodywork or repaints. Vinyl was a bit dry from sitting but has been brought back to life to look justlikenew2u!! Tires are all matching Sumitomos on very very nice damage free/vibration free rims. Easily 80+% tread left. Don't forget the car is also AWD so you won't have any excuses to NOT get to work in the morning! Below, hood and roof shine very well, as does the rest of the car. Note the factory issued ski/luggage rack. As shown, the beautiful dark blue shines very nicely. Being a very desired color combo, it has minimal dings and scratches with no dents or major damages to be found. Even the bumper covers front and rear are extremely nice and damage free! Unusual for it's age and mileage. Minimal paint touchups only seen if down at eye level. Note the driving lights work as they should as does the headlight wipers. A keen eye will notice a little fender-hood misalignment. It's not, I just accidentally took pics with the hood popped. It fits perfectly otherwise. The darker tan interior is super clean. I hate smoke and my friend isn't a smoker. I can't see or smell any signs of a former smoker in the car.Leather looks great. Steering wheel has more stain than wear. Driver's seat bolster is barely worn as is the carpet. Typical light sun fading on the exposed carpet areas but it's all evenly worn so it looks normal. No holes, cuts or damages to any of the leather. As you can see above and below that there are NO dummy lights on during run and ALL of them illuminate upon startup as they should. The ABS/TRAC light was on when we got the car, but yours truly repaired the ABS unit properly for years of reliability...to the tune of an over $800 savings from the dealer! The Check Engine light was also on, but the code was the typical "Evap Leak" which usually points to a loose gascap. I cleared the code and it hasn't come back on since. ALL the power items seem to work as they should: cruise, BOTH heated front power seats, dual climate control, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, HOT HEAT, transmission modes, info panel, sunroof, power windows, locks, AM/FM/CD player, ABS with TRACtion control, etc. Don't forget the car is stocked with front, rear and side airbags! Above you can see a bit of excessive vinyl separation on the door panel along with a tiny little cut. Ahhh yes!! One of the MANY reasons you are looking at this car....the rear COMPLETE 3rd row seating!! Perfect working order with seatbelts as it came from the factory! Also note the factory floormats are included along with the factory issued side cargo nets! Unseen is the complete factory spare setup intact! Its all here ready for your next roadtrip! The kids will love the view...and it's safety. Did you see the center console is nice with a COMPLETE cupholder!?!? Below you can see the full compliment of factory manuals are included with only one key. Cool thing about the 1998 versions: it's the LAST year before the expensive transponder chip key. Easy to replace. Radio code card is valid. This car had been sitting for some months unused. We installed a strong battery, checked the fluids and it fired right up! I logged about 100 miles on the car, mostly to try and burn up the crappy gas that was stored in it. We just added about a half a tank of fresh but it will still need to be ran down. MASSIVE amounts of servicing in this one: note the recent blue poly eurethane upper motor mount. What you can't see: the fresh trans fluid change, super clean oil and recent filter, nearly a year old brakes front and rear are super strong and tight with plenty of life left. Brakes don't grind or pulse: nice and smooth. Battery is strong and effortlessly starts the engine. Every once in a while mostly from sitting, the engine will have that one sticky lifter tick. Not damaging to the motor, but it may happen randomly until the car gets back to being driven on a regular basis once again. Spark plugs and wires are less than a year old. I still need to add the sticker, but the timing belt, (new version) tensioner, idler pulley, AND WATER PUMP are all recently done in the last 1000 miles! The car doesn't overheat. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Engine fires right up. Turbo spools properly. Transmission shifts as it should. Minimal MINIMAL driveshaft "flutter" for the AWD is the ONLY complaint I can have about the car. This is a typical issue on the AWD cars. The ONLY reason why it's even noticable is because the POLY upper motor mount is so much stiffer than the factory rubber one, it attentuates any vibrations or noises thru the body of the car. At highway speeds, the car is smooth as silk. Doesn't unusually pull or wander in any direction on any pavements. Suspension is tight and noise/squeak free. Exhaust is quiet. The car is 100% ready to go. Hop in, turn the key, drive. Inspect my excellent feedbacks. BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! Highest bid wins this car with an ABSOLUTE SALE and NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind with the thought of buying off the internet. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Nearly ALL my car auctions are NO RESERVE. Absolute sales every time. There is no benefit for me to end auctions early. I do NOT "show" my cars while they are listed and only the winner of the auction gains access to vehicle. I simply don't have time for people's schedules, giving directions, waiting around, tire kicking and lowball offers. BID TO BUY, if you don't, another surely will! Venue of sale is Cook County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. You will pay your sales tax and registration thru your DMV. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. I have a $500 deposit within 24 hours posted because if you are bidding, you should be in the position to pay. Variations can be made on a case by case basis but Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). If you need to fly into the state, please use O'hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW) then utilize the super cheap transit system into Chicago to the train stations (Union or LaSalle St). Then ride a commuter METRA train from Chicago into Joliet's Union Station. These trains run about every 1.5 hours thru the day. Total travel cost is about $10 and a couple hours time. HUGELY less than my cost of time, fuel and tolls to come get you. You can find the schedule info online Metrarail.com. If flying isn't your thing, and you have more time than money, try Amtrak.com and get yourself into Joliet, IL Union Station. I will pick you up for free in Joliet!
