Super rare Mopar: 1981 Dodge Diplomat Sport Coupe Salon My great Aunts car. She took good car of it since new. Had not driven in several years. I came over every couple of months to tool around and keep the seals and such from drying out. Not garage kept but under covered drive in. I left for a year and she has decided to sell upon my return. Her local garage was sought out to make preparations for a good driver to sell. The drive train is in very nice condition and nothing had to be attended to. HOWEVER.......from sitting the mechanic advised my great Aunt the following (and it was done): New gas tank, sending unit, lines, fuel pump. Rebuilt alternator, new battery, and ignition. The transmission was serviced (filter and fluid change....this had been done on a regular basis). NEW BRAKES all around....including rotors and drums, fluid flush, AND Brake Master Cylinder. The A/C was converted and it blows very cold air. The rear end axle seals and fluid change. This car is a nice road car with dependability. I have driven it to Huntsville from Birmingham twice (220 mile round trip) with no problems. The tires are Radial T/As with 85-90% tread. Power locks, power steering, 8 way power seats, cruise control, WORKING clock, GREAT AIR CONDITIONER, remote adjustable rear view mirrors for both sides. NO RUST ANYWHERE, NEVER IN A COLLISION, straight body (a few "dinks" here and there), the paint is 32 years old and holds a driver shine...not perfect "15 footer" There is no rust under top!! The interior is pretty nice for the age...not perfect but nice!! The car has VERY rare factory "aluminum forge" rims. Mirada CMX guys really look for them! Let me know if I can answer any questions!
