I want you to know exactly what you are buying so you can bid with confidence. Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a rare find. I have a 1989 Toyota Tercel coupe. This car was a one owner. It was bought cash, driven only 55,000 mile, and then parked. It has spent most of the last several years in a garage and was recently taken out, cleaned up, and refreshed. I often have people ask me to find them a low mile Toyota that gets good gas mileage for under $2000, and I always have to tell them that I can’t help them. Well, for once, I have exactly that! The Tercel was Toyota’s compact car, slightly smaller than the Corolla of the day. The Tercel name actually comes from Latin meaning ‘a third smaller’. IF you were looking for a straightforward, reliable commuter car in the 80s, you couldn’t do better than a Tercel for the money. It has a small four cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that can get impressive gas mileage even by today’s standards. As you can see in the pictures, the blue cloth interior of this car is in very good condition. The dash, door panels, and headliner are all in great shape. The seats are clean and comfortable. They show the expected wear from normal use. The carpets are clean and there is a set of Toyota floormats. The windows open and close easily. The locks work properly. The heater and fans work well. The factory A/C does not blow cold, I would expect it needs to be recharged. The factory stereo works, but 20+ year old factory Toyota speakers aren’t exactly Hi-Fi anymore. The exterior of this car has the dings and blemishes that you would expect from a commuter car. The white paint is overall in decent shape. The black wheels and chrome lugs contrast nicely. The tires are a new set with good tread. All the lights and glass look good. Mechanically, this car runs and drives well. It has had the oil changed, antifreeze flushed, and everything looked over. The four cylinder engine fires up easily, and, when warmed up, gets down the highway well. While cold it is sluggish and doesn’t like full throttle. I think the choke needs to be adjusted. I ran some carb cleaner through it and a full tank of gas with fuel system cleaner and that helped quite a bit, but it is not quite 100%. I am no expert with carburetors, so a little tuning by an old-head mechanic should fix that right up. It gets down the highway at 70 mph with no trouble and I have put several hundred miles on it around town and on a long highway trip. The 5-speed manual transmission is easy to shift and the clutch grabs smoothly. The brakes stop the car well. The steering and suspension are in good order. This Tercel drives perfectly straight with no clunks or suspension rattles. I don’t see any obvious leaks or needed repairs, aside from getting the carb tuned up. I am a big fan of the older Toyotas and these Tercels are one of the best simple commuter cars ever made. Everything you need, nothing you don’t; well built, and at a good price. If you get it tuned up perfectly, this is a car that will get better gas mileage than a Prius at a fraction of the cost. Mechanically, this car runs and drives well. It has had the oil changed, antifreeze flushed, and everything looked over. The four cylinder engine fires up easily, and, when warmed up, gets down the highway well. While cold it is sluggish and doesn’t like full throttle. I think the choke needs to be adjusted. I ran some carb cleaner through it and a full tank of gas with fuel system cleaner and that helped quite a bit, but it is not quite 100%. I am no expert with carburetors, so a little tuning by an old-head mechanic should fix that right up. It gets down the highway at 70 mph with no trouble and I have put several hundred miles on it around town and on a long highway trip. The 5-speed manual transmission is easy to shift and the clutch grabs smoothly. The brakes stop the car well. The steering and suspension are in good order. This Tercel drives perfectly straight with no clunks or suspension rattles. I don’t see any obvious leaks or needed repairs, aside from getting the carb tuned up.
I am a big fan of the older Toyotas and these Tercels are one of the best simple commuter cars ever made. Everything you need, nothing you don’t; well built, and at a good price. If you get it tuned up perfectly, this is a car that will get better gas mileage than a Prius at a fraction of the cost. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck bidding!

Winning Bidders:

Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will ba having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later. We cannot accept personal Checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work (including temp tags) in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those transactions. We will assist you in that process.

There is additional risk in purchasing a vehicle this way versus buying a vehicle from a retail dealership that has been fully serviced and has a warranty. You will pay considerably less this way, but understand our vehicles are sold AS-IS and do not carry any sort of warranty.
