1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible. Beautiful Galaxie 500XL convertible - black with black interior and a white top. 390 Thunderbird engine with Motorcraft 4-barrel carburetor, 2-speed Cruise-o-Matic auto transmission with factory console shifter. Power steering and very rare factory air conditioning, fender skirts, and spinner wheel covers. Older restoration very nicely done. The car is exceptionally straight and in really nice shape overall. A real head turner - great for cruising and cruise-ins as-is, and could be a lot more without much additional effort. The interior has some minor wear and a bit of the metallic piping has some minor UV damage, but it is otherwise in very nice shape. The top is older, but solid with no leaks. I do have a model-year correct radio installed currently. I've had the brakes done, carb rebuilt, generator rebuilt, air-conditioning and transmission serviced, and installed new radial tires. It runs and drives great. I would not hesitate to take a cross country trip with it. I'm selling only because I don't drive it as much as I used to, and it ought to be owned by someone who will drive and appreciate it. Note: I have been asked if the engine is a 352, because the engine is painted incorrectly for a '63 390. The repaint was done when I had the engine work done, and apparently the person doing the work thought it should be "Ford blue." As I do not show the car, and it runs great, I have not corrected this. It is indeed a Z code engine, and says "Thunderbird" on the valve covers, as can be seen in one of the pics. I have many more photos and can send upon request. Lowballs will probably be ignored. This is a very nice car, and you don't see too many in this color or this condition. for any question,ask me.
