Vehicle Detail
1972 HONDA CL450 SCRAMBLER! 15200 ORIGINAL MILES This is the much rarer “SCRAMBLER” version of the CB450. The condition of this machine was mostly original (the sidecovers have been repainted) and un-restored when I bought this a couple months ago. I have lost my storage and have to part with this one. Before and after photos at: http://kirkusblog.com/2013/05/03/turning-japanese-i-really-know-so/ The restoration I have completed so far are carbs cleaned and adjusted, forks rebuilt, timing set, oil filter cleaned, oil changed, air filters cleaned, drive chain adjusted, neutral switch cleaned and adjusted, brakes cleaned and adjusted, as well as the installation of the following parts. NEW Emgo Coils NEW Sparkplug Wires NEW Sparkplug Wire Caps NEW Sparkplugs NEW PAMCO Electronic Ignition NEW Honda Tank Locking Rubber NEW Brake and Clutch Levers NEW Honda Battery Holddown Strap NEW Clutch Cable (OEM Silver Cable) NEW Front Brake Cable (OEM Honda Silver Cable) NEW Roller Headstock Bearings NEW Honda Fork Gaiters NEW Fork Seals NEW Honda Fork Caps NEW Fork Oil NEW Battery NEW OEM Honda Fuel Petcock NEW Honda copper exhaust gaskets NEW Honda kickstarter rubber This a good running bike, shifts through all the gears and does not smoke. All the lights work, it has a new battery and the tires are in average condition - with a little more detailing and attention it would be a nice, original bike. Bike has a Clear Michigan Title. I don't have the tool kit or owner's manual. I do have the Clymer Manual that goes with it, as well as copies of the factory manual in electronic form. The inside of the tank is in excellent condition. The gauges both work as well. There is some paint splatter on the right side of the seat cover as shown in the pics. I will include all the old parts I have taken off of the bike, and include new parts that I did not have a chance to install including an engine gasket kit, bronze swingarm bushings, Unipod Airfilters, OEM Honda SIlver Throttle Cable, Shift Rubber, OEM Honda Silver Speedometer Cable. On Jul-31-13 at 07:31:36 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer some of your questions, yes there is an aftermarket finned points cover on the bike, and I am including it, and the stock cover in the sale. Yes the stator cover in the early pics has a JB Weld repair if you look at the blog link, but if you look at the later pictures I have replaced that stator cover with an undamaged one. My wife took a farewell ride last night on the 450: link below http://kirkusblog.com/2013/07/31/turning-japanese-beths-last-ride-on-the-mighty-450/On Aug-03-13 at 07:24:14 PDT, seller added the following information: As you have requested I have added photos of the exhaust, under seat area, and the box of spare and taken off parts. Please feel free to ask for further pics, or ask questions before you bid!
