Vehicle Detail
1956 Desoto Firedome Sportsman 2 door hardtop for auction sold as is. No title. Sold with bill of sale. They built less than 4600.The car is a restorable project car. It is 90% complete. The glass is decent with the exception of the driverside door window. Missing gas tank, exhaust system, some exterior trim, and rear bumper. It has body damage to passenger side door and trunk. Will need front floor pans, rocker panels (included with parts), wheel arch panel, trunk replacement panel and body work. These panels can be purchased on Ebay for around $400. I replaced two dry rotted tires, rebuilt the carburator and starter. The hemi runs and does not smoke. The generator works and it has good oil pressure. The radiator is now out of the car. It needs repaired. The brakes are not working. The transmission works. I had it on jacks and shifted it though low, drive, and reverse. I had to do it manually under the car because the shift cable is frozen. The frame and the rear floors appear to be solid. The interior was redone but original seat covers are underneath. The mileage is questionable. This would be a bad ass car back on the road. "The Voice Of Reason" (wife) says this one has to go. Thanks for looking.
