My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description including our Terms & Conditions at the bottom of each listing BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare 1997 Volvo 850R sedan. I would rate the exterior of this Volvo 850R to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a decent looking car. Aside from a small dent on the nose of the hood, the body is nice and straight...no noteworthy dents, scrapes or damage to report. Please expect to find normal wear associated with an older vehicle. The roof and trunk lid are faded as is common as these vehicles age. The only way to visually distinguish the R model (aside from the "850R" emblem) from lesser models is the low front chin spoiler and more aggressive rear spoiler. This gives the 850R a very subtle yet aggressive look. The windshield has a crack that starts at the top right and goes basically straight down. This will most likely need to be replaced to pass most state inspections. All the other glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well. The tires have average tread all around. I would also rate the interior of this Volvo 850R to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The interior is finished in leather with suede inserts which is specific to the 850R only. The door cards show well. The carpets show well for their age, too. The seats are in good condition and show appropriate wear. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The dash is clean. As you can see, the cloth to the headliner has been removed...which is common as they are known to sag. Being the top of the line model, the 850R is pretty well optioned. The power windows, locks, seats, sunroof and mirrors all appear to be working properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be responding properly. The a/c compressor turns on but turns back off which is a sign of low charge. The air conditioner does not blow cold air. The trunk is spacious and clean. The wood trim shows well for its age, too. This 850R comes with a full set of factory floor mats, the original owners manual and one key/one remote. Mechanically, this Volvo appears to be in fair running and driving condition but is in need of some basic maintaintence. The 2.3L turbocharged five cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. It leaves a few drops of oil under it where you park it but it appears to be minor. The engine does not smoke. I'd recommend replacing the front bushings and front brakes in the near future. The car drives straight and smooth but you can feel noticeable wear in the bushings over bumps and under heavy brake load. The engine keeps perfect temperature. The only warning light on is the "Tracs Off" light. Under normal to moderate driving, the engine runs smoothly and the car drives great. Under wide open throttle/full load, it will hesitate. I don't get into these things very deep. Given the few other existing maintainence needs, I would assume this car is due for a basic tune up as it appears to have not been serviced recently. Volvo 850's are getting hard to find...an 850R is next to impossible to find these days. She'll need some love, but these are very strong cars and definitely worth the effort. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description including our Terms & Conditions at the bottom of each listing BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare 1997 Volvo 850R sedan. I would rate the exterior of this Volvo 850R to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a decent looking car. Aside from a small dent on the nose of the hood, the body is nice and straight...no noteworthy dents, scrapes or damage to report. Please expect to find normal wear associated with an older vehicle. The roof and trunk lid are faded as is common as these vehicles age. The only way to visually distinguish the R model (aside from the "850R" emblem) from lesser models is the low front chin spoiler and more aggressive rear spoiler. This gives the 850R a very subtle yet aggressive look. The windshield has a crack that starts at the top right and goes basically straight down. This will most likely need to be replaced to pass most state inspections. All the other glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well. The tires have average tread all around.
I would also rate the interior of this Volvo 850R to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The interior is finished in leather with suede inserts which is specific to the 850R only. The door cards show well. The carpets show well for their age, too. The seats are in good condition and show appropriate wear. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The dash is clean. As you can see, the cloth to the headliner has been removed...which is common as they are known to sag. Being the top of the line model, the 850R is pretty well optioned. The power windows, locks, seats, sunroof and mirrors all appear to be working properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be responding properly. The a/c compressor turns on but turns back off which is a sign of low charge. The air conditioner does not blow cold air. The trunk is spacious and clean. The wood trim shows well for its age, too. This 850R comes with a full set of factory floor mats, the original owners manual and one key/one remote.
Mechanically, this Volvo appears to be in fair running and driving condition but is in need of some basic maintaintence. The 2.3L turbocharged five cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. It leaves a few drops of oil under it where you park it but it appears to be minor. The engine does not smoke. I'd recommend replacing the front bushings and front brakes in the near future. The car drives straight and smooth but you can feel noticeable wear in the bushings over bumps and under heavy brake load. The engine keeps perfect temperature. The only warning light on is the "Tracs Off" light. Under normal to moderate driving, the engine runs smoothly and the car drives great. Under wide open throttle/full load, it will hesitate. I don't get into these things very deep. Given the few other existing maintainence needs, I would assume this car is due for a basic tune up as it appears to have not been serviced recently. Volvo 850's are getting hard to find...an 850R is next to impossible to find these days. She'll need some love, but these are very strong cars and definitely worth the effort. Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If we do not hear from you within 48 hours, the vehicle may be sold to another buyer. All non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay.
Non-paying bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. This is not a game. Selling vehicles on eBay with NO RESERVE is very risky...which is why very few sellers do it. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time allowed by our Terms & Conditions, your account will be reported to eBay for possible suspension and you will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work (including temp tags) in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
