Vehicle Detail

1963 Ford Thunderbird THUNDERBIRD: 1963 T-Bird 2-Door Sport HP 390/4V /AT Low 91,158 actual miles. Restoration Special 2-Dr Sport Hardtop: Bucket Seats & Console AT, tilt-away steering wheel. ESTATE SALE: I am selling this as a low mileage, one-owner since 1967, solid 1963 2-door Thunderbird that needs further restorations. This was a friend’s dream, that he has spent thousands on over the last few years. Car was purchased local as garage storage, barn-find type vehicle. Because of the low miles & overall condition car was in process of restorations. Since finding car this is what the present owner has done: MECHANICAL: Car all original, all number matching engine to car. Rebuilt top end, head & intake gaskets, water pump, fuel pump, hoses & belts. New expansion tank, flushed gas & water systems. The original 4-barrel carburetor was professionally rebuilt at noted shop, cost of about $500.00. The power brake booster was professionally rebuilt too, with receipts & warranty. Owner had done compression test and checked engine prior to work with all electrical & systems good. I do have stack of original ownership papers & receipts. My involvement: We drove car out from garage storage onto trailer, car started, shifted and steered fine as we drove it around the cul-de-sac to get it loaded & delivered here. I started & let it run when delivered, but I did not know it had almost no gas so it ran the system dry. I added can of new gas but did not prime, so I proceeded to flood it out & foul the plugs with quick start. I have not tried to start since as the car had sat here all last month and then the new battery was stolen (by neighbor teen & I know who). It now needs battery, gas & plugs+ ...that is up to you. New rebuilt carburetor may also need adjustment too as that was one of the last things done to it. It is not my car to add money to, so selling as-is and as presently not-running and will need to be towed, loaded onto a trailer. It is parked on flat ground, easy access to move. I can guarantee engine turns freely, transmission worked forward & reverse but I never really took car out for a drive. Wheels were powder coated black & a new set of white-wall tires installed. You can see in photos the original shiny factory Thunderbird hubcaps I removed so they would be safe. This car has manual windows which all work fine. Owner had added some factory fender skirts to his collection of parts; shown in photo. It has a overall pretty good interior to start, see photos. Headliner good, seam stiching on driver’s seat needs attention and car needs carpets. This has been a local owned, Edmonds, WA solid car, and note we do not salt roads here and have problems like parts of the country so we get great survivors. Both sides of trunk well has collected water, due to old trunk seal, and side wells are rusted at the bottom and will need fill or new pieces included; see photos. Owner had purchased complete new lower side metal kits for this car, just to cut out the small sections behind the rear wheels. He also purchased a replacement front windshield panel around windshield wipers because of pitting in the original. These are in photos and included. Restore this beauty or part it out as this car is worth thousands of dollars in parts alone!! Overall this rare bird needs a new paint, but is extremely straight and solid. There is one dent noted, see photo, behind front wheel well on drivers side. Car has had one prior paint, and looks like is done in Ford Thunderbird VIKING BLUE. This is one of the best year Ford Thunderbirds, 1963, in the Sport 2-door model with HP 390 V8 & great color. This is a great investment if you can do the work to restore this rare survivor back to its original beauty. TERMS OF SALE: Please email with questions prior to bidding, as this is a vintage car sold as-is & private owner estate type final cash sale. This car sold non-running and needing full restorations. Please ask questions before bidding. Deposit due upon end of auction and balance due seller within 5 days, unless prior arrangements made. Car may be advertised locally and sale is subject to prior sale, and seller reserves right to cancel any sale and relist for buyer failure to perform as per terms of sale. BUYER responsible for all transport cost from Seattle, WA 98177. As we are end of most runs, and on west coast (north to south runs) or west coast to east coast runs so shipping is always inexpensive to find as they need to fill trucks from here & great transport rates can be obtained! We can also easily ship internationally from here. I can assist with transport bids if needed.
