Vehicle Detail
1955 GMC 100 Pickup Truck This is a rare opportunity to own a 1955 GMC Pickup Truck in excellent restorable condition. The truck Spent most of its life in California and Texas. Has no rust other than light surface rust which will come off with sandpaper or sandblasting. I bought the truck from the grandson of the original owner in California about 10 years ago. The truck is a long bed all original with the factory V-8 engine and 4 speed as the original owner ordered it from the factory. I replaced the carburetor with a Holley and a new air cleaner but have all original parts except for the wheels (have the hubcaps and one original wheel) and tires. Here is a link to a nicely restored 1955 GMC of the same model. http://www.carsofdreams.com/carsofdreams/cars/chevy_1955_pickup/index.html I have disassembled the truck which will save the next person a lot of time and money. The truck was assembled and running and driveable until 2 months ago when I disassembled for restoration. I intended to restore it myself but am not sure I really have the time to do it so am reluctantly offering it for sale. I have all the parts stored indoors with the glass which has no cracks or defects in padded crates. I have labeled and grouped the parts and fasteners that I took off for reassembly. I also have the factory assembly manual that they used when they made these trucks and the factory maintenance manual. I also have about $600 worth of parts which I purchased from Brothers Trucks. The engine does run but I was going to rebuild it while it was apart. It was drivable before being disassembled. The truck shows no signs of ever being in any type of accident, it needs very little body work (there are a couple dings in the bed) other than sanding and paint. The odometer is at 50303 miles and I believe and was told by the owner when I bought it that this is the original mileage. I live in Texas about an hour north of Dallas. You are welcome to come and inspect the truck. If you are looking for a rare original truck to restore to mint original condition this is a great one. Your time will not be wasted on a rusted out truck without original matching parts. I have been told that GMC only made a handful of these trucks with the V8 and 4 speed. This is a very rare truck, there are many times more Chevys than GMCs. I have never seen another one with the same options myself. I have had many people want to buy it over the years but have always said no. Of course the truck will need to be picked up with a trailer. I will put the cab and bed on securely and place all parts in bed and in cab organized and secure. I will assist with loading and have a large area for loading and a tractor to tow or push the chassis onto your trailer so this will not be a problem. Please check my feedback rating, it is 100%. I am a teacher not a car dealer, everything is as I have stated with this truck. I have the truck for sale locally so will end the auction if it is sold. If you would like to talk on the phone I would be glad to answer any questions. My phone # is 903 271 seven two eight two. Thank you, Gary
