Vehicle Detail

The odometer shows 54556 as of 7-14-13. I have no knowledge of actual mileage. I purchased it in 2006. The paint and body were restored in 2000 (I was told) The car runs and performs well. Yes you can drive it anywhere as is. Since 06 I have replaced: ü the vinyl top, including all padding, bows, window, gasket, headliner and front seal ü the entire interior, including all door panels, seat upholstery and padding, carpeting, window cranks and seat belts ü the engine was replaced with a factory 75 VW engine that had 7000 original miles. So the engine now has @ 15,000 mi. on it. Fuel injection was replaced with a 34PICT carb and electric fuel pump. Muffler was replaced with a German 74 muffler. Heater boxes were replaced with 73 VW boxes. The housing was painted red to match the exterior. Engine/body seal was replaced as was the engine compartment insulation. The oil is changed every 2000 mi or annually. Whichever comes first. ü It has been garage kept, never seen rain or snow ever since 06. ü Most of the underside metal was replaced prior to 06. I replaced the passenger side heater box in 09 and the driver side frame rail in 2012 with stainless steel Yes the heater and defroster work like they did in 1973. ü The entire brake system was replaced in 08. Wheel cylinders, master cylinder, metal and rubber lines, hoses from the reservoir to the master ü The kumos were put on in 2008. They have @ 10,000 mi on them now. ü I replaced the front and rear bumper and running boards in 07. ü Many other pars have been replaced. The list is too long and my memory too bad. I’m 67 years old and a retired Porsche/VW mechanic. ü My wife and I drive it in nice weather everywhere. I consider it a daily driver. Now the bad news. · As you can see in one photo there is body panel damage to the rear apron and bumper. There are other minor paint issues. A chip and crack and bubble here and there. · In 06 I put in a PYLE radio/CD player with matching red buttons and it works ok, but the speakers should be replaced · The wipers work, but are slow. I have never had it out in the rain and it passes inspection. In fact it is inspected till Aug. 2014 · The card board gas tank cover is missing in the trunk but the tool kit is there. The window washer tank is not pressurized. More photos available upon request.
