Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2005 Honda St 1300 W/ABS. I purchased this bike from the original owner about three years ago. It had approximately 14K when I bought it and it now has a little over 24k or only 3K per year! The original owner meticulously maintained this bike and I have done the same. While it came with synthetic oil, I immediately switched to AMSOIL, I run it in all my vehicles, 20W/50 motorcycle oil and religiously changed it and the filter every 3K; that's less than 1/2 the mileage AMSOIL recommends. The rear differential has Lucas 75/90 gear oil that has been changed yearly. I use heavier fluids as it's hot here. It presently has a set of Metzler Z8 sport touring tires on it with about 1K on them and the rear spline is lubricated with Honda moly grease. (I think these tires are actually better handling and wearing than the PR 2 or 3) Tires are a personal choice but there are many miles left on these, probably back and forth across America 3 times! (Depending on your riding style) While this bike is light on farkles it does have a few: rear roll over protection bars for saddlebags, Mick-O pegs for stretching the legs on those boring strips of super slab we all hit from time to time, MCL bar riser that raises and pulls back the bars about 3/4" ( i have the originals), rear magnetic tank protector, Spensorized seat for comfort, and Givi mono-key top box with lights. This box pops on and off in seconds as do the saddle bags. While some don't like ABS, I personally wouldn't buy any bike without it! It only has to save your life once! (it once kept me from T-Boning a deer with a K1100LT, I'm sold!) There is a power outlet installed, but not wired, below the right glove box. I find it more convenient to use the SAE plug that is permanently attached for the battery charger for using my electric vest. Hopefully if you are reading this ad you are knowledgeable about the ST and I don't have to go into dealer specs. While this bike is not perfect it is pretty close. There are a couple scuffs here and there but nothing really noticeable. I posted a picture of the one paint nick, there when I bought it, that's about 1/8" on the tank top. A few small windshield nicks but hardly noticeable. I would rate this bike a solid 9! For about 17K you can get a 10 with zero miles at your local Honda shop! If you need more detailed pictures of anything I'll be glad to take and send them but I am not a professional photographer. Bike comes with tools, owners manual and full shop manual. I believe I have every paper from the original owner from the day the bike was bought! Why am I selling this great bike? I'll be turning 65 soon and after over 50 years of riding I've decided to ease out of the hobby. If you go through my feedback you'll see that over the years I have bought and sold lots of motorcycle related items and am not a dealer. My feedback is 100% in both eBay buying and selling for more than 10 years. I pride myself on accurate descriptions! This is an auction so please don't ask me to reveal the reserve. I will say that the reserve is lower than the buy it now price of some higher mileage non ABS bikes and the ABS package adds about $1K to the cost of a new bike. If you win the bike I will expect an immediate 200$ payment via paypal or contact me for a bank routing number. While I think you will find me easy to work with you will not take possession of the bike until my bank says all funds have been deposited and are available. Cash at pick-up is OK with a 200$ immediate deposit. Now for shipping. I hope you will show up here, southern Utah, and ride the bike home! It will be 100% ready and gassed up to go! You can find your way to my home and pick it up here. You can get to St. George and I can meet you there. You can fly into Las Vegas and I will meet you at the airport for an additional 50$ to get me back home. If you ride home from here, there are some spectacular roads in any direction and I'll point you towards them! Or, if you want to be like a V-Twin owner, you can hire a shipper and I'll meet then anywhere nearby. You're bike, you're call. Please ask any and all questions before bidding.
