Vehicle Detail

Here is your chance to buy a very rare fairly high optioned 1 of 9640 built 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS Convert. It is a matching numbers correct car with a 283 2 barrel 4 speed M20 tranny with a 10 bolt posi and dual exhaust. This car was restored 20 years ago in Missouri. Engine and tranny were updated at that time. Engine runs perfect. The body is decent, and the only spot of rust that I can see is a small spot the size of a fifty cent piece above the rocker on the quarter panel behind the door. It is not too serious and can be repaired very easy. The trunk has been patched and refinished. New full length floors have been welded in properly. As for the paint on the car it is driver quality shiney but has some paint flaws. THIS IS NOT A SHOW QUALITY PAINT JOB. This is a nice runner and driver. I have replaced the rocker chrome and wheel well opening chrome. Windshield, floor mats, door panels, arm rests and power top switch are all new. The power convert top is in great condition and works as it should. The convert window is decent with a few scratches but no tares. Interior is in nice condition with no tares. Carpet is decent. The convert power top is real nice. All around this is a really cool and rare convert with a V8 and a Muncie M20 4 speed. Out of the 9640 units how , many of them were 4 speeds? Unknown. I have been around classic cars for a long time and I would grade this as a #3 car. The value of these cars are skyrocketing. This was the first year of the Chevelle. Lets justify the value of this car. A month ago the same color interior and exterior car sold through EBAY for $20,800. It was a NOM 350 and an Automatic. Another NOM auto went for $22,000. Both these cars were drivers. I am setting MY RESERVE THOUSANDS LESS THAN BOTH THOSE SOLD AUCTIONS. My car is a numbers matching and a great driver and looks and drives great. Besides the horn works too......... I am selling this car as is and where is. Please have your financing approved and your money ready. Please bid to own if you are a serious buyer. If your not please don't mess up my auction. If you would like to come see it or if you have any questions please call me. I am available during the day so it is easy to reach me My name is Tom 612-978-9853. Please bid high and bid to own........ On Jul-10-13 at 05:31:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's the deal........ Have you ever searched to see how many FACTORY 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS Matching numbers 283 4 SPEED converts FOR SALE? I only found 2. One for $37,000 and one for $58,000. Remember only 2 percent of the 9640 were 4 speeds. Thats 192 cars. That means this car is 1 of 192 cars built with a 4 speed. SUPER RARE..............On Jul-12-13 at 21:32:42 PDT, seller added the following information: WOW The car will sell. The reserve is met. I am answering some questions I have been asked. How is the paint: As I said it is not show quality. The car went through what i would guess an amature restoration over 20 years ago. The paint has flaws. On the trunk there is some bubbles. NOT RUST. Poor paint prep is what I think it is. There are a few door dings nothing serious. Behind the passenger door above the rocker trim there is a rust bubble about the size of a fifty cent piece. There is a few paint chips here and there. I would grade the paint on a 1 to 10 scale a 6. Car is a 20 footer..... Any rust? As I said above. The body is great. If you look at the truck it has been patched with fiberglass, then it was painted over with correct trunk paint. Frame is great. No issues. When I had the door paints off, the inside of the dours are in grat shape. Doors open and close nice. No sagging. The car has power brakes. Car runs and drives nice. Needs to be driven. I took the instrument cluster out. A few of the dash light are out. Radio needs the speaker and antennea replaced. On Jul-13-13 at 16:11:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Just thought I pass it on. I had a person come from Michigan to look at it on Saturday. He said he couldn't believe how nice it drove and how the tranny and engine operated. He was impressed. He wanted to look underneath the car. So we took it to the nearest Tires Plus and put it up on the lift. He looked at it and and pleased. Looked good. Then it wouldn't start. OHHHHHHH........ Well at least we were at a place we could fix it. Tested the charging system all tested good. Tested the battery NOPE bad............. I replaced the battery with a new 650 CA and works perfect!!! NO ISSUE'SOn Jul-17-13 at 05:43:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Now that we are coming to the end of the auction, I want to make sure everyone knows my expectations about payment and shipping. Kept in mind this car is Sold AS WHERE IS, and No warranty. As stated in the terms. That means it is up to you to arrange shipping. I can be available when the shipper comes. If there is any other shipping questions please call. As far as payment. I amold fashion, CASH IN PERSON IS KING. If you don't feel comfortible with that option wire transfer is another option. If you decide to pay by Certified Bank funds. I require your bankers business card (this is not an option). The car or title card will not leave until my bank OK's the funds have cleared. If you pay by Bank Certified Check, the funds are due within 48 hours of auction close. You will need to overnite the funds to make that deadline. If you need a loan get it approved before you win the auction. Please understand, I am not trying to be hard to work with or a jerk but, If your are buying a car you should have your ducks in a row before you buy. If you have any issues, I am very easy to reach. You can call me all day 612-978-9853. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!!
