1971 VW Beetle. Manual transmission. 79 K miles. Clutches and shifts very easily. Purchased May 2012. Very light use since purchase. Received tune up and rebuilt carburetor by VW mechanic. Receipts are available showing the work that was done. Runs well but does need some work with gas tank/oil to be more reliable. There is some leakage of fuel under the hood but could be repaired with tubing. Car does tend to leak oil, but this is typical of this age/model car. Some areas of rusting normal to age of vehicle, but overall in good condition. Floor pans replaced, but the work done was not very good. Will need floor pans replaced and areas of rusting repaired. Will likely need some brake work at some point. Does not have a spare tire. This vehicle is road ready but will need some body and mechanical work to perform more reliably. This car would be great for someone who has worked on VWs and is interested in an inexpensive hobby car to work on. This car does have the potential to be quite nice with some work.
