Vehicle Detail

Read the whole Ad and look at pics carefully before bidding - thanks 1972 650cc Bonneville T120V matching numbers not very common 5 Speed 650 This is my own bike purchased 7 years ago intending to do a full restoration. Stored in a garage from 1983 to 2006 as seen by the 1983 inspection decal pic of the fork leg. Previous owner painted her to look like a Silver Jubilee Bonneville - blue and silver. The plan was to get it running right and then do the cosmetics - cosmetics didn't get done as I was too busy with other bike projects and now I'm selling a few bikes to give me the time and space I need for those other projects Over $1900 spent on parts which is close to the reserve price Matching frame and engine numbers Bike starts easily - Boyer digital ignition helps and she idles nicely and doesn't smoke. The speedo indicates about 6400 miles. The rev counter is not fitted but is included with cable and drive gearbox in the sale (see pic) and both guages work correctly. Tires have almost no miles on them and are perfect - I only put about 50 miles on the bike. Here is a list of the parts replaced - I have all the receipts:- 4 Valve guides, 4 valves, set of valve springs, piston rings, pair rear shock absorbers, 2 gas taps, lots of small parts such as shims, spacers, springs, seals circlips etc, steel and friction clutch plate set, clutch and brake cables, kick-start pinion, high gear / sleeve gear assembly, lay-shaft 5th gear, main-shaft 4th gear, lay-shaft 4th gear, head race bearings, gearbox sprocket, rear wheel sprocket, final drive chain, ign switch, all gaskets, front and rear tires (Dunlop K70 - correct pattern), front and rear brake shoes, Boyer Micro-Power digital ignition system, plugs, fork seals, clutch springs, headlamp glass, rim and rubber boot, headlamp mounting hardware, battery (this week) plus lots of small items - receipts total $1750 plus $150 lost receipts for the rear shocks and gas taps plus cost of new battery - another $35. Inside the tank is good. All the electrics work perfectly including both front and rear brake lights. After all that work and $$ I didn't get round to the cosmetic stuff. Either leave it like a rat or give her a resto. I'm not going to go through details of what could be done to make this bike look great - Everything needs painting, all the chrome needs doing (front rim is not too bad though) handlebars need replacing and the all aluminum casings need polishing. What needs doing apart from cosmetics? - The bike is newly rewired but harness needs taping up / binding to make it look and finished and for protection from chafing. The brakes need attention as despite new shoes and cables, they aren't very good - trailing / leading shoes may be reversed possibly. Clutch slips a little - don't know why cos it's all new. The oil breather pipe just above the oil filler neck in the frame has snapped off and needs repair - it doesn't leak though. May be a few other things that need tidying - nothing major. Please ask questions - I can send more photos if you want them and can do a video of a start-up - just ask. I welcome personal visit to view the bike or for pick-up. You have to arrange shipping but I will make sure that I am available for trucker to collect bike. Can deliver short distance from Pittsburgh PA at Fed gas mileage rate. On Jul-01-13 at 07:03:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I should draw attention to the ding in the gas tank - top front left side - it is clear in the pics but just wanted to be sure no one missed it On Jul-02-13 at 14:00:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I have video with sound if anyone wants me to email it - just email me - it's no trouble at all I set the carb mixtures with a Colortune device and balanced the carbs today. That Triumph sound is so sweet I really don't want to sell her now - just can't keep them all! On Jul-06-13 at 07:12:32 PDT, seller added the following information:If you want to see a couple of videos I'll need your email address to attache the file - thanks
