Vehicle Detail

1965 Triumph TR4A -- For Restoration or PartsCar is being relisted. Reserve has been reduced to previous private offer. I purchased this car 42 years ago believing that I would someday restore it to all its glory. For all that time, it has been stored in a safe place, under dry cover, never moved. About a year ago a bad storm took away some of my garage roof paper, letting in a little water, hence stimulating the corrosion process. I figure after 42 years, its time to part with it. Unfortunately, after 42 years I cannot find any paperwork including a title if one existed, nor the VIN plates. Here’s what I can tell you: 61,538 original milesSolid rear axle option (only 25% of 1965 production had this option)Chasis # 51728 CTEngine, tranny, and rear end are intact. Wheels are the original painted wires – including the spare Front and rear bumpers are solid no rust but need shaping. Front grill is very good Rear trunk lid is NOS Trunk area is in good shape – the red is not rust No glass Gauges are all there – condition unknown Original steering wheel There is a convertible top and mechanism, but I was hesitant to unfold it. Hood is in very good shape (red is old primer) but needs a small weld where you see the yellow patch. I believe the metal floor was cut out and replaced with plywood – but I honestly I don’t remember And Yes, that is 1970’s blue fur upholstery – no extra charge for that !! I’m guessing the car spent a maximum of 7 years on the road prior to my purchase. I’m sure the right person could restore her, but that’s no longer me, and if you already have one in need of a few good original parts, this may be your lucky day. Good Luck. Car is sold “as is, where is” with no express nor implied warranties. It will clearly need to be winched onto a trailer/carrier, with transport to be arranged and paid by buyer. Car is located in upstate NY. E-mail or phone me if you have questions.
