Vehicle Detail
58K original mile California Car. Bought from second owner in Lawndale, CA. Runs great! It’s 1565 cc produces 80 hp. Because it is fiberglass there is zero rust and there isn't a dint in the car. Great native survivor. Runs well. The car has always been garaged and maintained. I brought it to Coffee and Cars in Palos Verdes and it gathers nearly as many people as $1 Million+ Gullwing Mercedes and the other poster cars there. Many are excited to see a Europa for the first time or get to see an great example again since childhood. The brakes, steering, motor were just gone through. However, its still a mini project. The upholestery has a couple tears! The dash is wood and needs to to be refinished or replaced. Perfect new ones are $400 on ebay. The two window switches are gone. I needed to replace them but never got around to it. The paint is good from 10' but up close has lots of chips, scratches, but there are only three small stress cracks by the driver door (photographed) , which is very little for these cars. The floor is solid as photographed under the drivers feet where most wear happens. The chrome looks good. It's missing some Lotus emblems and the metal mesh that goes in the rear of the car and under the four oval portholes in the rear lid. Everything works except the window switches. If I were to keep it I would replace the dash wood and the window switches. The car was heavily upgraded with over $1800 brand new Panasport rims and low profile tires. I think the car looks way cooler than any other I've seen except the one Jay Leno just did for his friend. Please feel free to contact to schedule a test drive. My number is 310-259-5195. I reserve the right to end the option at any time as the car is advertised elsewhere and I have friends trying to trade cars for it. The car is part of a larger collection kept at the Torrance airport most of the year. I have had my fun and now it is time to rotate the collection. Honestly too, I am too big for the car. If you are over 180 lbs or over 5'10" you will have to lube yourself up and be shoehorned into the car. :) I'm serious though. It is meant for smaller people able to get in and out of a small low car. That said it's handles like a big go-kart when you're in. For very little money you can race the car around town or on the track. Good luck bidding. Here's the history on Lotus Europas: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_EuropaOn Jul-01-13 at 13:46:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I just looked at the title and it has the car as a 1970. I found the date of invoice for the car's ID #652474 is November 1969. I just don't want anybody unhappy with the wrong year.
