Balance must be paid in cash in person or via PayPal. For sale is my father's 1949 Studebaker Champion 3-passenger Coupe. I am told that there were only 1642 units of this model manufactured in 1942. The body ID tag inside the engine compartment indicates that this is number 1002 constructed. It is a 3-speed manual transmission. This Studebaker runs relatively reliably. It started up multiple times yesterday and was driven over 75 miles from my father's house to my home. All of the gauges work. I am told that the headlights and wipers can be iffy and do not always work properly or drain the battery. My father said that he avoided using either to prevent that from being a problem for him. I don't know much about the vehicle but I will answer as much as I can, so please feel free to e-mail with questions. It has a rebuilt169 cubic inch Studebaker engine (straight 6) with less than 6,000 miles on it. My father installed a new odometer when the engine was rebuilt (new odometer reads 5877 miles). The original odometer is included in the auction, and reads 60,792 miles. Most of the rust is surface/superficial. The worst spots are pictured below and are on the front driver side of the vehicle. The interior needs work as well. My father did an amateur upholstering job inside the vehicle himself but it is not perfect. Please see photos to get a better idea of the interior condition. The upholstery on the doors is sort of hanging loose. The windows roll up and down but need guidance with your second hand to go into place properly. This Studebaker has a clear Oregon title in hand. Records are also on hand for over $10,000 in restoration and repairs, including but not limited to the following: -White sidewall tires with less than 6,000 miles ($795) -Repair doors, hood, and trunk to close properly ($246) -Battery, re-condition starter, plugs, points, ignition, distributor cap, fuel filter, recondition gas tank, new gas lines, new breaks and wheel bearings ($3164) -Stainless steel exhaust system ($174) -Electrical work (mostly wipers) ($468) -Powder coat wheels red ($302) -Voltage regulator, battery cable ends ($266) -New wiring harness, rebuild radiator, rebuild motor, water pump, clutch, etc ($7565) As pictured, the following additional miscellaneous parts are also included in the auction: -12 assorted hubcaps -3 rear fender guards -3 door handles -3 grill emblems -Replacement hood latch/release -Original odometer -Replacement NOS metal grill strip -Set of front fenders that are in better condition than the fenders currently on the vehicle -Additional assorted parts Please let me know if you have additional questions about the vehicle. I will answer as much as I can as quickly as I can. Thank you. On Jun-24-13 at 08:49:57 PDT, seller added the following information: **Please take note: After posting this vehicle, I have since learned that the interior passenger heater is not currently working. Along with the temperamental lights and wipers, these are the only mechanical issues that I am aware of.
