My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honstly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the listing carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare Honda Prelude VTEC. I would rate the exterior of this Prelude to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking Honda. As with nearly every older Honda, there are some noticeable rust spots on the fenders. The left side shows a hole...the right side shows a good sized bubble but it's not through yet. I don't usually fault an older Honda for fender rust as it is a design flaw in the car and doesn't really reflect on the owner. As you can see from the rest of this car, it looks to have been very well cared for. After all the years and miles, the paint shows very well. There is no noteworthy damage to the exterior of this vehicle. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a decent set of rubber. Tread depth is average all around and there is no sign of uneven or unusual wear on the tires. I would rate the interior of this Prelude to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this vehicle. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well. The one seam on the drivers seat has come apart from age. Otherwise, the deeply bolstered leather seats show incredibly well. The dash is clean, not cracked or faded. The power windows, locks and sunroof all work properly. The climate control system is fully operational and looks to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too! The original stereo has been upgraded with an Alpine head unit and there is a matching Alpine CD changer in the trunk. Everything about this car is right. Mechanically, this Prelude appears to be in good running and driving condition but is in need of service and minor repair. The H22A DOHC VTEC engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good for an older car. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this Prelude with no issues. Her road manners are great. Other than an ABS light, there have been no warning lights on. When I purchased this car, it seemed to lose power in high cam. If you keep the revs under 5,000...she runs strong and drives great. I checked the oil...and the oil level looked fine. I did a bunch of research and tore into it again. The timing is right...tensioner appears to be working properly. My next guess was a clogged car. Due to the age of the car, the exhaust bolts were rusted together so I cut the exhaust off before the cat...no different (except much louder). With the exhaust off, I can hear things much better and it doesn't sound like high cam is engaging properly. I've never heard of a VTEC problem...ever. I am neither a mechanic or a Honda expert so maybe I'm missing something stupid but all that should be needed for the high cam lifters to engage is sufficient oil pressure. Like I said, the engine has oil...no oil pressure light and it idles/runs quietly so there is no indication of an oil pressure problem. Maybe it's a solenoid issue...I don't know. You can drive it normally with absolutely no issues as long as you keep the revs lower. I do still have the factory exhaust, which I will include if the new owner wants it. The clutch feels great and the transmission shifts smoothly. This car was BONE STOCK and looks to have been carefully driven and respected. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. There is no noteworthy damage to the exterior of this vehicle. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a decent set of rubber. Tread depth is average all around and there is no sign of uneven or unusual wear on the tires.
I would rate the interior of this Prelude to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this vehicle. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well. The one seam on the drivers seat has come apart from age. Otherwise, the deeply bolstered leather seats show incredibly well. The dash is clean, not cracked or faded. The power windows, locks and sunroof all work properly. The climate control system is fully operational and looks to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too! The original stereo has been upgraded with an Alpine head unit and there is a matching Alpine CD changer in the trunk. Everything about this car is right.
Mechanically, this Prelude appears to be in good running and driving condition but is in need of service and minor repair. The H22A DOHC VTEC engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good for an older car. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this Prelude with no issues. Her road manners are great. Other than an ABS light, there have been no warning lights on. When I purchased this car, it seemed to lose power in high cam. If you keep the revs under 5,000...she runs strong and drives great. I checked the oil...and the oil level looked fine. I did a bunch of research and tore into it again. The timing is right...tensioner appears to be working properly. My next guess was a clogged car. Due to the age of the car, the exhaust bolts were rusted together so I cut the exhaust off before the cat...no different (except much louder). With the exhaust off, I can hear things much better and it doesn't sound like high cam is engaging properly. I've never heard of a VTEC problem...ever. I am neither a mechanic or a Honda expert so maybe I'm missing something stupid but all that should be needed for the high cam lifters to engage is sufficient oil pressure. Like I said, the engine has oil...no oil pressure light and it idles/runs quietly so there is no indication of an oil pressure problem. Maybe it's a solenoid issue...I don't know. You can drive it normally with absolutely no issues as long as you keep the revs lower. I do still have the factory exhaust, which I will include if the new owner wants it. The clutch feels great and the transmission shifts smoothly. This car was BONE STOCK and looks to have been carefully driven and respected. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If we do not hear from you within 48 hours, the vehicle may be sold to another buyer. All non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay.
Payment:
Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close.
Cash in person upon pick up is the preferred method of payment. There are other payment options for long distance buyers where paying in person is not possible. Paypal is NOT accepted for payment, nor do we have the ability to accept credit cards.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours; we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accommodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Vehicles paid with cash will be available immediately. If paid by any other method, the vehicle and title will be held until funds have been cleared by my bank.
All vehicles must be collected within 14 days of auction's end. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without a specific exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work (including temp tags) in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
