Vehicle Detail
1973 Dodge Charger SE V8 400 big block with factory build sheet. Factory triple black 400 big block, 4 barrel with 3 speed auto, floor shift center console, 130,500 miles and economical highway-friendly 2.74 rear end gears. Super clean underneath; inspections and/or test drives welcomed and encouraged. Includes factory assembly line build sheet. Purchased from an estate sale June 2010. Slowly been bringing it to life after sitting for a few years. Now it is a great reliable runner, attention-getter, and ready for you to take it to the next level. In the recent past, the car had a very nice basecoat clear coat black paint job applied. Unfortunately, the owner died soon-after, and it sat in a tight garage for a few years and the car now suffers from what I would call “storage rash.” Lots of little scrapes and nicks in an otherwise lovely paint job. I have no qualms about taking this car out to the local cruise night and showing it off….but a car this straight and clean deserves a fresh paint job. The unique original black “SE” vinyl roof is especially nice shape in both color and texture, I’d rate it at least an 8/10. I installed a crisp clear new windshield. All chrome and stainless complete and very presentable. 14” chrome Cragars with 2 Goodyear tires and two Sigma tires, with lots of tread life left in them and no flat spots. All tires are raised white letter, but I turned the black walls out as the brand lettering doesn’t match front to back. Cold factory AC with 134A retrofit….hot heat, cold AC, healthy fan blower. Dual exhaust with chrome tips. Car has headers but surprisingly quiet runner unless under full throttle….then you get that lovely Mopar big block roar. Misc items replaced last 1-3 years with receipts for all work: ignition control box, voltage regulator, thermostat, radiator, plugs/wires/rotor, carter rebuilt by Zim’s of Akron, shocks, alternator, new Mopar performance cam, intake gasket, water pump, radiator and hoses, brake lines and hardware, side marker lenses. The previous owner installed new carpet, and had the front buckets reupholstered in suede cloth that pattern-matches the original vinyl in the rear….not correct, but much more warm-weather comfortable than black vinyl! I had the headliner replaced. No radio/stereo/speakers, but, ready to install your choice of a modern system or retro replica. Coverlay dash cover over original dash pad.
