This Campmobile has been in my care for just over 6 years. I think I am the third owner, I bought it from a woman in Ohio who drove it to Texas once a year to visit her daughter. It had 95,000 miles on it when I got it from her, and during the time I have had it I tried to keep it up and maintained. That included replacing the water pump, replacing the brakes, brake lines, and rebuilding the brake cylinders, 4 new tires, complete set of new poptop and luggage rack gaskets, new catalytic converter, muffler and tailpipe, replaced radio, skylight window, battery, all fluids. It is a dependable, fun machine, not perfect-- but a great low mileage classic soul. My son drove it to Colorado in 2010 and kept it there as his transportation for one school year, other than that it has been with me at my home in Birmingham, AL. I did not take it camping nearly as often as I had planned. I have owned a VW Westfalia almost continually since I was 18 years old (36 years ago!!) This is my 8th one to own. As I said, it is not perfect, the stove burners work fine but the propane tank needs to be replaced and the wipers continually blow a fuse, the sink and water spigot pump work fine, I have never run the refrigerator. If you are looking for a van to bring up to high standards, this would be a good candidate, it has a straight body with only minimal signs of age and wear. I was let go from my job in February and must sell--- sad, but a fact of life for me at this point. I'm willing to drive it up to 200 miles from my home to aid the buyer with the delivery. I also have several items (camping things, etc) that can go with the van if desired.
