Vehicle Detail

In the last several years on eBay I have sold a 1937 Indian Scout, a 1948 Indian Chief, a 2005 Harley Softail Deluxe, a 1979 Triumph Bonneville Special, a 1980 Harley FXS Lowrider, several other bikes I can't even remember at least two sports cars and one Cushman Scooter. So when my daughter came to me and asked, "Daddy can you put my Honda CB250 Nighthawk on eBay for me?", it was with some apprehension that I agreed to do so. I am used to restoring and selling fire-breathing ground-pounders to hairy bikers named Tiny and was afraid that my reputation would be sullied. But being that it was my daughter, I went over to her house, picked up the bike, brought it home and there it sat in my garage for almost a year while I worked on other projects. Last weekend I finally got around to dragging out of its hiding place and seeing what this bike was all about. Well let me tell you, I was surprised...in a good way! This is a 1991 Honda CB250 Nighthawk. While it shares the same engine size as a Honda Rebel, that is where the similarity ends. This is an in-line two cylinder, four-stroke motor and will kick a 250 V-twin around the block all day. I drained the old gas, checked the carb and de-gunked it, installed new plugs and a new battery, changed the oil, checked the tire pressure and then hit the start button. Would that my Harley was half as reliable as this bike! It started right up and after a cough or two from sitting so long, ran just fine. I took it down the road as far as I dared since the tags were dead, and it drug my 210 pound butt around pretty good! The bike handles like it's on rails and is actually pretty fast for a 250. The seat is fairly low and it is sprung on the soft side, so it is great for that beginner biker in your life. It's got a carb and a chain, two things you don't even find on a lot of modern bikes. It's simple enough that with the most basic mechanical skills and tools you can work on it yourself! The bike is in great condition, not just for "it's age" but really great condition for any motorcycle. I can see a couple of little dents (if you want to call them that) on the top of the tank, but other than that, near perfect condition. The chrome will shine up real nice, the paint is excellent, the front tire is new, the back tire is about 60% (should last the summer and then some) and the chain and sprockets show virtually now signs of wear. Everything works just like it should, signals, lights, breaks, horn, etc. The original tool kit is complete and stored in its case beneath the seat on the right side of the bike. It even locks to keep other people's pesky little booger hooks off your tools! So would I ride this bike from Virginia (where I live) to California...are you kidding me...but I would ride it to work every day for pennies, insure it for almost nothing, and take it to 7-11 when I was out of smokes until the wheels fall off. You can't find a bicycle for this price nowadays folks!!! So when your son asks, "Dad can I get a motorcycle?", and Mom says, "NO, YOU'LL PUT YOUR EYE OUT!", you can say, "Honey, I know where I can get Jr. a very safe, very cheap motorcycle that will last a lifetime." Okay, so you and I know it will take more than that, but it's a great little bike and it is lonely here in my garage with the big, nasty Harleys and Triumphs giving it the evil eye all day long. You need this bike. You'll love this bike. This bike will make your life complete! The pics tell the tale: great overall condition, stock, not all messed up and neglected, low, low miles. I would love to get this bike out of here this week, so come on and buy this great little gas sipping bike that thinks it's a 350. Some terms: As always, if you want to see it and inspect it, that can be arranged. If you want to ride it, I will gladly hold your cash while you do so, and if you wreck it I get to keep both:) I don't arrange shipping. I don't arrange shipping. I don't arrange shipping. Anything else...oh yeah...I DON'T ARRANGE SHIPPING! Payment can be made to Paypal, certified check, or cash. No trades, no "deals", no excuses. Thanks for looking and please check out my other eBay listings.
