Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa, Euro designation, with a 3.0 liter and 5-speed transmission. VIN # WPOZZZ91ZDS140517 Mechanically the car is in very good condition and repair. It is solid, has no dings, dents or rust, is very quick, and is a blast to drive. I’ve owned the car for a little over 5 years, and have put less than 1,000 well cared for miles on it. It came to me in need of minor cosmetic updating, which has been my pleasure to complete, including a full re-paint. I tend to be a bit of a critic about my autos, so please bear with me while I point out the good, and the little things that are not quite perfect. Exterior: Ø Exterior is black basecoat with clear coat (complete re-paint approximately 2 years ago). It has tons of shine as you can see from the pictures, and looks nearly new. Only complaint I have is some minor hairline checking on the right front fender (only visible if you are standing over the fender and sighting down it against the light). I tried to get a picture of it, but it does not show in pictures. Ø The rear of the car has the wider Carrera flares, optional whale tail, and third brake light. The tail is in excellent condition, and together with the wider flares, gives the car a wider stance than standard. Ø Targa top is in in very good condition. No rips, tears, etc. ($1500 - 2000 replacement cost, if you can find one in this condition). Ø Front has upgraded H4 head lamps, Euro side markers, and fog lights. Ø Doors have power windows and power mirrors. Ø New windshield, replaced at time of paint. There was no rust in the windshield channel. Ø Wheels are original Fuchs all around, very good condition with a few minor blemishes that can be polished out for the perfectionist. Porsche painted insignia caps on the hubs. Ø New tires (500 miles) -- Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500. Really nice on this car. Interior: Ø Interior is nearly flawless (8.5 out of 10) with New black carpet. Contrasting tan seats and door panels. No rip, tears, burns, sags, no smoke, no smell. etc. Ø New forward trunk carpet set. Ø Momo hub steering wheel. Ø All gauges are functional, including the clock Ø Dash face looks like new, including ashtray and glove box. The dash was capped when the new windshield was installed. It is in very good condition, but sun heat has caused a slight buckle around the passenger side air vent – needs to be re-glued or replaced ($129 if it bugs you). Ø Newer interior deck, fitted with nice Pioneer speakers. Ø Radio is a Sony AM/FM/CD/MP3 with remote, and power antennae. Mechanical: Ø The engine starts immediately, but has a little smoke for a second or two immediately after start. I have not had it checked out, because it is gone before I can get out of the garage, and not at all present during operation. Ø Underside of engine case has the usual “wetting”, I assume from from older seals or gaskets that don’t get a lot of "on" time. Ø Engine response is excellent and strong through all gears, and the low weight makes for great performance. If you get into 3rd gear in town, you are way over the speed limit! Ø Tranny was rebuilt by previous owner, including a replacement clutch, and new cam oil lines. It shifts perfectly through all gears. Ø New front strut cartridges, front wheel bearings, front & rear rotors, and brake pads. Ø Car oil temp runs cool, never a problem. Ø A/C is in place, but I have never charged nor used it, so I cannot attest to its functionality. Previous owner said it works. Can’t think of anything else. The descriptions and the photos are limited to my non-professional knowledge and experience and reflect my best efforts to point out what I know. Inspections are welcome, but please do so before bidding. This sale is a binding legal contract, so please treat it accordingly. Car is being sold “as-is, where-is” with no warranties, expressed or implied. This Porsche is ready to be driven! It handles great and gets a lot of attention. So… stop reading about the 911 legend and start driving one. A non-refundable deposit via PayPal of US $500.00 is required within 24 hours of auction close, and the full remaining payment via Cashier’s Check or Wire Transfer within 3 business days of auction close.
