Vehicle Detail
Hi, and thanks for looking! I have a white BMW 535is with an automatic transmission. If you're familiar with these cars then you know that this is the rare "is" model which features the 3.4 liter fuel injected six cylinder engine with a limited slip differential and ONLY for the "is" comes special sport Bilstein suspension, sport seats, special front lip with factory fog lights and a rear spoiler. First year of the "is" model, the highest line model aside from the M5 and the sportiest E28 5-series available with an automatic transmission. The car is a 1987 with an automatic and 118K miles showing (I cannot verify the mileage as the odometer is broken, which is pretty ubiquitous for these cars). It has aftermarket 16" BBS wheels which are in beautiful shape and all have BMW emblems intact. The car also has a CLEAR Georgia tile, last traded in 2006. Body is very straight with a nice interior and intact seats, dash, etc. All bright-work and exterior trim is intact and the emblems look great. There is some rust, mostly around the bottom of the rear windshield, which is the most common spot for these cars, and a little at the trailing edge of the right rear wheel well as well as around the lip of the trunk (see pictures). All very minor though, and no structural rust. Floor pans, etc, are intact with no rust. The car does not currently run, but if you see it you'll know that it has a lot of potential. I bought the car off craigslist as a potential project, mostly just glad to have snagged it from a couple of guys who were planning to part it out--in my eyes the car is far too complete for that. It's not really a car I'm looking for though, so I decided I'd rather move on to something else and lately BMW bikes have been more my speed anyway. (You'll notice the K75 I just finished restoring in a couple of the pics.) I'd like to see it go to a good home if possible, it's just not the car for me. The car has never run in my possession. It will turn over when hooked to a battery and most of the electronics seem to work, but it will not run consistently. The previous owner suggested it was a problem with fuel delivery, but basically what you see is what you get. I do have receipts (pictured), which show that it had the transmission replaced, as well as radiator, fuel pump, and a bunch of other random things, in 2006 under the previous owner. Engine is fairly clean and everything looks intact, but it is missing its exhaust. I provide no means of transport, so when you purchase the car that is all up to you. The car is currently located in downtown Savannah, GA. and I gladly accept PayPal. Here is a link to a Flickr account with more high-res photos. Most of these were taken when we pushed it out from under the porch last week to clean it, but it is currently kept covered and out of the weather: Flickr Photo Set If you have any questions about the car, please do not hesitate to ask, and thanks again for looking!!!
