Vehicle Detail
Don't forget this is a holiday weekend, factor that into your bidding plans, please!! NO RESERVE on this loaded up 2 owner rusty but trusty Heavy Duty F-250 monster!! You know you can't get em like this anymore!! I said rusty but honestly?? It's a few saturdays and 6 packs of beer with friends away from being back to it's glory days of looking great! With the exception of the obvious hole areas, the rest is all surface which can be easily ground down and repainted. The lower portion would be super easy to mask off and repaint gold again!! Or....just leave it and drive!! That's what I did. I've logged about 700 miles on this one. Regularly towing my car dolly loaded up with a car. Can't even feel anything behind you with the old 460 doin the towin!! Understand, I just sold my 2002 F250 4x4 Super Duty 5.4 V8 and this truck will pull circles around that 5.4 Triton! This truck cruises 70mph at just under 2000 RPMs compared to the 5.4 at 2300+. I've also had the V10 F250, which is a monster, but I'll take the better gas mileage of this 460. Yes the whole left fender is done, but a replacement can be bought from Ebay for about $70 in flat black primer. The hood is purely surface rust. The doors are rust free and super solid. The cab is also solid with only surface rust in the typical corners. No holes (see pics). The bed can be salvaged. Tailgate is smoked. Again, easy to buy a replacement if desired. Junkyards are bout $50. New $100 on ebay. The right front fender is easily painted as well. But, skip the body repairs...it's the mechanicals that make this truck shine!! Look at the very recent Firestone TransForce tires!! I know first hand it's about $750 for a set of 4 installed. I'm being a nitpicker when I say there is 80+% tread left. You get these included for NO RESERVE!! Tires are vibration free at all speeds and ride on clean factory aluminum Ford wheels that shine with only a few typical corroded spots. Clearcoat is holding up very well. A keen eye will notice some smaller rust spots at the top of the windshield. Yes, it leaks a little inside under heavy rain, but since the windshield is cracked and will need replacement (average is $100 used installed), during the replacement, they can fill it with sealant as I assure you, installers are used to this on the Ford trucks! Below, shots of the solid underside. Engine sweats a light bit of oil up front, but not enough to leave anything much (as in none) overnight on my shop floor. No other leaks to be seen under basic inspection. Front suspesion is tight and the truck drives down the road straight and steady. No unusual pulling or wandering. No vibrations. No suspesion noises or slop. Oh...and the brakes are super strong as well. Above, trans pan is spotless. Below....shouldn't tese doors be falling off from rust by now?!? Nope. Super solid. They open and close perfectly too! A little heavy rust on this side of the cab, but plenty fixable. The rearend shows typical sweating (not wet leaking) of the center housing. No whining, noises or grinding from the rearend. Suspension is solid and tight, also. No holes on this side of the bed, just heavy surface rust spots. Tailgate is smoked. Fiberglass hugger looks nice even with the clearcoat peeling off. Operates open/close with little effort. Sorry, no latch inside or locking device, altho the lock handle is still there. Even tho rusty, the tailgate still opens properly. BIG BIG trailer hitch and round plug wiring are intact along with the brake controller inside. Don't forget the intact full size spare is included! Exhaust is factory style. Decent growl considering its very quiet. This side of the bed is rotted, mostly from what looks to have been something backing into is as it's pushed in a little...which is what I thing triggered the rust. I can't explain to you how comfy the interior is....ALL the ammenities of a higher end car....in a truck. Keep the leather, this cloth holds up 10x better (as seen on this truck) and feels 100x better under the bad conditions. Cloth looks great with minimal wear. Signs of a smoker (few light burn marks)at one time but I hate smoke and the truck doesn't reek of it. ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with NONE one during run. Never while I had it. No issues. Note the excellent idle oil pressure (on the gauge) and the minimal engine temp setting. These are everyday normal for this particular truck. All the power items work like ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, hot heat, windows, locks, wipers, lighting, 4 speed Auto Trans with on/off overdrive (transmission is due for a fluid change, which I am INCLUDING the filter and Lucas Oil Additive), never got the cruise to work, tho it's there at least, and don't forget the TWIN FUEL TANKS work perfectly! Can't see it from the glare, but the padded portion of the passenger dash has some cracking. Easily replaceable as it's NOT the actual dash, only a trim piece. Below you can see the Lucas, trans filter and I'm throwing in a Fram Oil Filter, too! No charge. No reserve. I had it ready to change, but no time to do it. You may have noticed the corner of this side of the cab is nicer than the driver's side. Still solid and repairable. Engine compartment is well kept. Not too clean, not dirty. Below you will notice the A/C compressor is spinning. I turned on the AC for this shot, in case you were wondering. Interstate battery is recent and starts the truck effortlessly. Engine fires right up and runs smoothly. No noises or ticks or whines. No overheating. Fluids are clean with the exception of the transmission needing a change as stated. I am giving you the filter and Lucas additive. I like the additive for the higher milers. Cheap insurance. For the records, the trans shifts fine in all gears. Overdrive switch works fine. No slipping, whining, or noises. Only a bit of random harshness, usually when cold going from park to drive. I'd be willing to bet there is some good old u-joint wear as well, but considering the fluid is on the brown side and visually worn, it's time. Just maintenance time, is all. I haven't done ANY servicing on this truck at all. I would still pull a spark plug or 2 for inspection. Wires look good and clean. Cap/rotor is nice, but should be pulled for inspection. Finally, I would change the fuel filter, just so you know it was done. If I can squeeze an extra MPG or 3 out of the truck over a simple fuel filter/air filter change?? I'm doin it!! So...why am I NOT keeping this truck to use? Well....I managed to take the extra room I had with this extended cab (same stuff from my Reg Cab 02 F250) and hog it all up with my car stuff!! Rendering the extended cab area useless. Frankly, I don't need an extended cab with an 8 foot bed and a car dolly and a car strapped to it. I picked up a 247k 01 Dodge Ram Reg Cab 2500 instead. No, the Dodge can't compare. It's struggles, in fact. But, it gets a hair better gas mileage and the Reg cab vs the 02 Ford Reg cab is bigger. My stuff fits behind the seat easier with the Dodge shelves, too. So...now this Ford can be yours!! NO RESERVE!! Plenty of life left for it to work hard!! Load up your work crew. Haul the gravel. Tow the 5th wheel. This truck is ready to work or load up the family for a night out! No worries. Inspect my excellent feedbacks! BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 185k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. My best friend is on his 5th from me. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric.
