I purchased this GTI for $8,300 on 12/30/2013 with 77,700 miles on the odometer. I've repaced the powere steering pump & pulley belt, the front brake discs and front and rear pads. The paint and overall exterior condition is in good shape. The tires have 70-80%.Exterior Condition: - There are a few tiny dings located on rear wheel wells and one on the lower rocker panel. - There 2 shallow dimple dents on the engine hood (hardly noticeable). - The passenger sideview mirror will be installed this week. Note: The automatic transmission slips in 2nd gear. The mechanic explained that the car is basically driveable but will eventually need a transmission replacement. I have been using it as a daily driver. In order for the automatic transmission to shift from 1st gear to 2nd, I have to accellerate to about 5,800 RPM (approx. 25 mph), immediately let up on the gas pedal, allow the tachometer to drop back down to approx. 1,200 RPM, then slowly apply the accelerator pedal and the car will drive/accelerate normally to your desired speed. The transmission will reach the 5th and cruise control works fine, especially on the highway.
