A real gem here. Times are not easy and i must sell my 1983 bmw 533i. I'll start with the story of how i met this car. I'm a european car mechanic by trade, and at the time drove a 2003 330i. I was pulled over one day leaving the shop and as the cop approached me, he complimented my ride and asked if i was able to work on bmws... the next day he pulled up this little black 533 with a rope behind his rover. I bought it sight upon sight. only needed a pickup pump in the tank to get going... since then i have removed the front bumpers, and replaced the cylinder head with a rebuilt 535i head, replaced chain and guides, and added larger injectors. Well that was all about 3 years ago, and its been sitting under carport pretty much sense. i just kinda left it there. Last week i took it out for a drive and runs just great. I would however recommend towing or shipping. Reason being the large rims have cause the front thrust arm bushings to fail, causing a rough 45mph shimmy. The two rear rims were removed as well, during this test ride i realized the tires were flat. low and behold the rims had cracked, both rear... how, i dont know. But now it has two spares on the rear. Rims can be repaired. Inside is overall in tact however, it was my intention to re- do it entirely. Now body wise Overall it is very nice, except the front two fenders have some bending, non uniform, not really a huge deal. a minor ding in truck lid, and the bracket the holds the shock for the now removed front bumper has some damage. Paint is nice on sides, but is almost completely faded on top of roof, hood, and trunk. In one picture i had covered it in a black shine product. Looked real good, that day. overall a Rare Rust free body with a nice stance. engine and trans work excellent. however it has been sitting, trans shifts like silk.
