Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevrolet Caprice 2dr. Hardtop – Factory 327ci., 2bar., Power glide automatic transmission, super rare factory Hid-A-Way headlights with headlight washers, Rally Wheels, P. Steering, AM Radio, Vinyl top and door edge guards. This car is all original and is still wearing its factory paint and has never been painted or wrecked. The factory color is Code 61 – Burnished Brown with Black vinyl and cloth bench seat interior. This car was sold new at Page Motor Company in Milford, Conn. The car is basically a ‘Barn Find’ and has been sitting for a number of years and doesn’t run but the motor turns over. There is lots of original paperwork that comes with the car. It has lots of receipts, owner’s manual, original keys, key knock outs, warrantee pamphlet etc.. This car also still has its original 1969 Connecticut Title. According to the receipts and the Connecticut Inspection reports this car has always been a low mileage vehicle. According to the original title the original owner of this car was 66 years old when he bought this car in 1969. The last Connecticut Inspection report from 1990 states that the car had 37000 miles on it. The car still has its 1990 Connecticut Inspection sticker on the front windshield. The car then came to Florida in 1991 with the original owner who at that time was 87 years old. The car now shows 49000 miles on it and I believe these are the correct miles but I don’t have any documentation after 1991 to prove that though so use your own judgment. This car is very original but it does have some rust on it. The frame is very solid and has no problems other than light surface rust. The interior floor boards are in good condition and are very solid. The trunk floor has a few rust holes in it but it’s not bad. The vinyl top has some bubbling rust under it above the windshield. The front fenders both need lower ‘dog leg’ patch panels. The quarter panels have some rust behind the rear wheel. The passenger’s side is worse than the driver’s side. The rocker panels are solid. The trunk has the original jack in it. It also has some other extra parts for this car as well as a complete set of disc brakes off of another 1969 Impala to update the front brakes on this car. The cowl and firewall are all solid in this car. This car would make a good restoration project or possibly a parts car. I would hate to see it parted but I know the front headlight system is rare and valuable and might be better suited for another 1969 Caprice or Impala with more options. I am not going to part this car out. I will only sell it as a whole car. What the new owner does with the car once they buy it is up to them. There is no reserve on this car so the high bidder will own the car. This car will be sold with the original clear, Connecticut title from 1969. This car rolls freely and would be easy to load on a trailer or transport truck. Transportation is the responsible of the high bidder but I will help with loading the car at my location.
