Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1969 Shelby GT-500. It has a 428 Cobra Jet engine with automatic transmission. This car is in good condition inside and out. In 2000, at 101,900 miles, I had new ceramic headers installed. In 2005, at 102,000 miles, I upgraded the 3rd member to a Street plus, locker-31 spline, 3.89 gear ratio. In 2007, at 102,060 miles, I had the engine rebuilt and the stock intake manifold replaced with a polished aluminum dual-plane Edelbrock manifold. I also had a non-lockup 1.85 torque converter installed, and upgraded the cam shaft to a Comp cam. This is a radical cam shaft (to me it sounds like a funny car drag racer at idle speed.) The VIN number on the door matches the Marti report. Upon inspection, the VIN number on the cylinder blocks cannot be located. According to the Mustang 428 Cobra Jet Registry, www.428cobrajet.org, it is sometimes hard to find the VIN number stamped on the cylinder blocks. The registry indicates that the part numbers on the carburetor and intake manifold can verify that these parts belong on a Cobra Jet engine. The part number for the intake manifold is C8OE-9425-C. The carburetor part number is "C9AF-9510-N list 4280 929". These numbers were listed on the website as valid Cobra Jet part numbers. I will ship these original parts with the car. The casting number on the block shows the number 9B19. The website http://www.fordification.com/tech/datecodes.htm shows the motor was cast on February 19, 1969. I bought the car in August 2000. I have all records of service from my ownership. You're welcome to inspect and test drive the car.
