Vehicle Detail

I bought this vehicle in August 2005 with 119,520 miles on it from Carmax. It was a 'spare' vehicle so it was not driven as a daily driver. Over the last 8 years I have only put 40,000 miles on it or 5000 miles per year. The EX is Honda's top of the line model. The body style changed in 1998 and was the same thru 2002. So the 1998 to 2002 are the same body style. In 1998 Honda had 10 different models in their line-up with the Honda Accord EX V6 4 Door being the top of the line and most expensive model. ( From the DX, LX, EX 2D, 4D with either the 4 cyl or V6 ETC) I wanted the V6 since it is so smooth to drive. The leather inside is in really superb condition--no tears or holes--no issues. The carpet is in very good condition--I always had rubber mats over the factory mats with white paper between them so it was always protected. It does have the original Honda logo factory mats which are the nice mats. It comes with the original Honda owners manual and a CD on how to repair the vehicle which I never did use. (I bought the CD just in case--Honda Accord 1998-2001 Service & Repair Manual). It comes with one original Honda key (Honda logo) and an original Honda remote. The remote I received with the car when I purchased it never did work so I bought a remote and programed it to the vehicle. It has: all the power options; power windows, power mirrors; power locks; cruise control; AM/FM/CD; power driver's seat. tilt wheel; leather interior; V6; automatic transmission; lighted visors; climate control is dial adjusted just like your home. Alloy wheels; Power Sliding/tilting Sunroof with wind deflector. It also has the "gold letter emblem package" as can be seen in the photos. Its been a really good dependable vehicle for me. When I purchased it I replaced the timing belt and water pump and the cable for the hood release and it went right thru the very tough Maryland State Inspection. About two years ago I did replace both front rotors and pads and the tires were replaced and are still good. About two months ago I replaced the battery. It will need a ball joint on the right side--can't remember which upper or lower that the mechanic said. It will need a new brake light switch for the 'center' light----not expensive. All glass is good. All windows work. Everything works except one inside overhead light--sometimes it works; sometimes it does not--it has two lights up by the rear view mirror. I have the radio code so just in case you can reset the radio. Engine: no issues, runs great; great shape; nice engine. Transmission: I hate to tell you but everything Honda/Acura made from 1998 thru 2004 had the possibility that it had transmission problems. I've been lucky so far but every once in a while I do notice that it will shift a 'little' hard from 1st to 2nd gear. It does run good and I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. The outside paint is starting to show its age. The worst is the roof and the rear bumper. The rest of the car isn't too bad. I was parked in a parking lot and someone ran into my driver's side rear door area I guess they were trying to park their car and did not even leave a note. The door still closed fine and the window works fine. I never bother to fix it. This has been one of the nicest cars I have owned. It has taken me a while to decide to sell it. If you have any questions, or need further photos, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. AIRPORT: The closest airport to me is Baltimore-Washington International or BWI. If you are planning to fly in to drive it home please be sure that if sending a bank cashiers check that the 'funds' have 'cleared' my account. TITLE: I have a clear Maryland title in my name. VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT: Is available above for you to see; I also have a copy on hand that I can send out. No accidents. INDEPENDENT INSPECTION: You may request a third-party vehicle inspection by clicking "Order an independent inspection". SHIPPING AND HANDLING: It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping. NEW CAR TEST DRIVE.COM: (YOU CAN REVIEW THIS YOURSELF) HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT THE 1998 HONDA ACCORD Sdn. "This may be the best mid-size car in America. Almost every time Honda redesigns a car it steps to the head of the line in automotive greatness-at least for awhile. We think this is true of the all-new Honda Accord. Completely redesigned for 1998, this is the sixth generation of this popular car and it appears to have established a new benchmark for midsize sedans-a post most recently occupied by its arch-rival, the Toyota Camry. Honda says it has made more changes to this new Accord than any other model in its 22-year history. Like the previous model, the Accord does everything well. Even more impressive, it's a much better car than the previous model. The interior is roomy and comfortable, the suspension is responsive and well damped, the brakes are excellent, and both brand-new VTEC engines a 3.0-liter V6 and a 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder are incredibly smooth. This is a car thst a family can buy, then quickly turntheir attention to other concerns. Reliability should not be an issue. It is, after all, a Honda. And it's Honda's most important car. It's easy to drive and every aspect of it is user friendly. Obviously, those brilliant Honda engineers have once again done their homework." NON-SMOKER VEHICLE: I DO NOT SMOKE. ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES/OPTIONS: when you have the V6 engine in the EX trim you get these extras. brakes, anti-lock power 4-wheel disc; Decklid, release, power; door trim panels w/leather inserts; entry system, remote keyless; headlights w/automatic off; Interior trim, woodgrain; molding, color-keyed bodyside; radio, AM/FM ETR stero w/compact disc & 6 speakers; Seats, reclining front bucket w/driver seat adjustable lumbar support & power height adjustment (8-way power driver sest); security system; steering wheel leather-wrapped w/radio controls; wheels, aluminum alloy; air conditioning, automatic; tires P205/65R15; UPHOLSTERY, LEATHER SEATING SURFACESOn Apr-30-13 at 19:33:54 PDT, seller added the following information: I was off from work today so I went to look at the Honda. I drove it to the gas station--put some gas in it and then to Advance Auto so they could read the code for the check engine light. It was code 'P0420' which the employee said he 'thought' was the 02 sensor. He reset it so the light is off. The 'SRS LIGHT' I think is something with the air bag but I'm not sure. You can probably go on-line and research it. Neither light affects the engine or the ability to drive the car. I don't drive it much since I have another vehicle. The mileage as of today is 160,790 miles. I 'looked' over the Honda again to see if I may have 'missed' anything. On the passenger front door there are a couple of "door dings" from parking in parking lots next to people who do-not-respect other people's car--so they just open their doors and bang. It has home link also. I tried the visor lights they do not work but the little like map light did. The dash pad is in perfect shape--real nice. The only immediate repair that is needed is the right side ball joint and the brake light switch. Honda has a safety built into the vehicle that when the brake lights do not work the transmission will not shift out of park. No big deal--they have next to the shifter a "shift lock release" like button you just 'press' and it will shift into gear for you. I have tried to describe my car as accurately as I can and be honest about it. If you have any questions please send me an email. ThanksOn May-02-13 at 22:00:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I did not know this fact. The DX trim model came with P195/70R14 all-season tires. The LX trim model came with P195/65R15 SBR all-season tires. The LX and the EX trim with the V6 engine came with P205/65R15 SBR all-season tires. Naturally the larger and wider the tire the smoother the vehicle will ride. EXPERT REVIEWS from NEW CAR TEST DRIVE.COM: "Honda's new Accord sets the new standard for mid-size sedans. It's at or near the top of its class in every measure of a great family sedan. It offers a smooth, quiet ride quality, handling that inspires confidence, and an attractive interior with front and back seats that are roomy and confortable. To those ingredients are added Honda's reputation for quality, durability and reliability. Not surprisingly, the new Accord is already popular and Honda's sales increased substantially after it was introduced. Don't look for exclusivity here, because Honda sells more than 375,000 Accords a year in the U.S. And don't expect bargain prices because this vote of confidence puts dealers in the driver's seat. Even so, those who buy the 1998 Honda Accord should enjoy many years of pleasant, trouble-free motoring. And those are important qualities for great family sedans."
