I bought this Land Rover a few years ago as a project vehicle. As near as I can tell it is a 1973, but the exact year is unkown...it is a Series III. I bought it from a guy in Florida and had it shipped to Illinois. Never driven in snow or salt since it has been in Illinois and has been garaged during the entire rebuilt. It has been a lot of fun to own and drive but now it is time to send it to a good home as I need the room for a new project. It runs and drives great and would make a fantastic hunting or overland rig; tons of storage and is durable and simple enough to work on anywhere in the world. It has achieved minor fame by being featured in Zombie Nation magazine in 2012 as "The Ultimate Bug Out Vehicle." A copy of the magazine comes with the vehicle. This rover has a solid frame, relatively straight body (a bit of crinkle on the left side rear corner) and a strong engine. It comes with the hot dipped galvanized roof rack with rear access ladder as wel as the safari double roof. It also has HELLA lights on front as well as a High lift-style jack on front bumper. Extra aftermarket items include aluminum and rubber rear window tracks from Rocky Mountain. Rocky Mountain metal grill replaced the factory grill. It has the spare gas tank under drivers seat that is not hooked up, but could easily be modified. Still to be done: rear brakes need to be replaces and lines bled. Some rust and corrosion is evident on front corner pieces and front door posts and these eventually will need to be replaced. Rover North sells both and theyare not unreasonable. One rear outrigger on frame has some rust and will need to be replaced down the road. Likewise Rovers North Sells these and theyare cheap and easy to replace. Door gaskets need to be replaced and door hinge screws adjusted so the doors lock up tighter. Currently they are equiped with anti-burst locks. Will ship anywhere in the US, and help load it, but Buyer is responsible for securing/paying a shipper.
