Vehicle Detail

This car has had much restoration work done, and it's just about finished. The car was completely dis-assembled. The body was taken off the frame, the frame was blasted and painted, and all new control arm bushings and ball joints installed. The entire body was also blasted and etch primed, then put back on the frame and all rusty metal was cut out and much new metal welded in, including floor pans, trunk pans, quarter section, trunk extensions, rear trunk area and more. The quality of the metal work is very good. When all the metal work was completed the car was sent out for finish body work and paint, and it came out real nice. The color of the car is a Ford color, paint code E4, "Vermillion Red". If you go to a Ford dealer on a bright sunny day and ask to see this color, I think you will agree it is the perfect red for this vintage car. The photos are not as "color accurate" as I would like, the car is actually a deeper red that it appears in the pictures. Once the paint was done, it was returned to me for re-assembly, and I have just finished. As you can imagine, this car has had more work done and new or reconditioned parts installed than I could remember to list here, so please feel free to contact me if you have questions. It has a new red and white hounds tooth interior that includes new seat covers, door panels, armrest bases, carpet, headliner, etc. The original 283 V-8 motor and the cast iron powerglide automatic transmission were rebuilt prior to me owning the car, and they run flawlessly. The Rochester 4 barrel carb with electric choke is a nice touch. It has an aluminum radiator. Presently there is an alternator in the car, but if the new owner chooses, I will convert it back to stock with a nice generator and a brand new voltage regulator that I have and are ready to go. It has all new brake components from the dual line master cylinder to the wheel cylinders, and silicone brake fluid was used to prevent corrosion over long periods. New stock single exhaust. The power steering system was rebuilt and works perfectly. Basically, everything in this car works, right down to the windshield washers. I replaced the clock with a volt meter. The car is not perfect, it has some trim pieces that could be replaced or restored, I did the best I could with what I could find here on ebay. This car is very, very nice, and needs nothing that would prevent you from driving and enjoying it right now. I would easily put this car up against any other 1960 Impala 2 door hardtop for the money. I can answer any questions you may have by telephone (before 8PM eastern please) (413)-539-9769, ask for Dave...and I encourage anyone who is interested to come and see the car.
