Vehicle Detail

This is a 1957 Standard 10 Estate Wagon which was badged and sold in the US as a Triumph TR-10. The car is mostly complete and has a solid body but needs a complete restoration. It has been sitting in my garage for the past 9 years and previously sat for several more at the previous owners place. I had the car running a few years ago and drove it up and down my road but other than that it has been in the garage. The gears all work but reverse is a little tricky to get into. The body is mostly free of rot but there is a spot in one of the rocker panels in front of the rear wheel. There are also a few spots of rot in the floor near the rocker panel. The rest of the car was covered in light surface rust when I got it. I gave it a Rustoleum paint job which makes it look decent from distance but will need to be redone. A few of windows in the back are missing and at least one was replaced with plexi. The windshield and door windows are original glass and roll up and down. The wiring harness is disintegrating and I had to use jumper wires to get the car running. The interior is in poor shape and the seats have some large holes. Because the state of Vermont does not issue titles to cars older than 15 years this car will come with a bill of sale only. I am happy to answer any questions you have and the car is available for inspection in Dummerston VT. Let me know if you want any specific things photographed. I am happy to work with a shipping company but making shipping arrangements is the buyers responsibility. I can recommend a great shipper for delivery in New England and New York State. The car must be paid for in full prior to pickup.I will store the car free of charge for two weeks after the auction ends - additional storage can be negotiated.I accept cash, money order, and Paypal.Buyer will pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the balance within two weeks or at pickup whichever is sooner. On Apr-18-13 at 09:06:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to make it clear that the car is not currently running. It ran when I parked it but I have not attempted to start it since.I imagine it would probably start with some minor tinkering but its safer to assume its not in running condition. I was told that most TR3 and Spitfire parts will fit without issue -- motor, trans, brakes, etc. On Apr-19-13 at 07:56:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I was informed that a more accurate statement about parts interchangeability is most Spitfire and Herald parts fit but only some TR3 parts fit. Seller chrisj8125 has a bunch of spare parts -- motor, body, etc. He suggested that the buyer contact him for what they need. The glass that is missing if flat and can be sourced from any decent glass shop. I have received a number of messages from other wagon owners who have offered advice and shared their projects with me. I did not realize that there was this strong a community around these little cars until I listed it. Thanks for all of the information!
