Vehicle Detail
A near flawless 2005 BMW F650cs with around 1300 total miles. I do ride this bike every now and again, so miles are approximate. Will have between 1300-1400 miles when this auction ends. I know the history of how this bike has such ridiculously low mileage, contact me if you want the whole story, but the important thing to know is that the bike is in absolutely 100% perfect condition, with the exception of one scratch that I did a few weeks ago. Mechanically, the bike is perfect, everything works just like it is supposed to. Bike has heated grips, the BMW power plug, and ABS. All work perfectly. Buying an eight year old bike with only 1300 miles raises questions about the negative effects of a bike sitting unused. In this instance, the bike was obviously stored correctly. All rubber bits are soft and pliable, no dryrot. Fuel system is clean, and fuel injection works perfectly. I bought the bike a few months ago with 1030 miles on it. All I've done to the bike is a oil and filter change, a brake fluid flush, and an inspection of cables, filters, etc. All parts (oil, filters, etc) are OEM BMW. The Metzler tires are past their usable date according to a strict interpretation of the sidewall date code, but they appear to be in perfect condition. No UV or dryrot cracks at all. I took the bike to a trusted bike shop, they looked at the tires, and said they would ride them any day. No concerns. I've also added a few accessories to the bike. A Hepco and Becker centerstand now graces the undercarraige, and a Hepco and Becker rear luggage rack carries a BMW 31L topcase that I have modded to fit. The case is from a 650GS, but I've adapted the mounting system to work perfectly with the Hepco-Becker rack. The BMW topcase has a removable liner included. I have the original BMW rack parts, everything is reversible. I also added the OEM tank bag that fits in the storage cubby in the faux tank. All gauges/lights/accessories work. The bike is just plain damn perfect. Except for one damn scratch I inflicted myself a few weeks ago. I had the bike on it's centerstand in my garage, and I had it a little too close to the rear bumper of a project car I have in the same garage. When the bike rolled forward off the stand, a sharp edge on the bumper scraped the very edge of the rear pillion. No cracking of the plastic, not deep gouge, it just shaved off the paint. A simple touch up, and the bike would be perfect again. The color is BMW Ginster yellow. This is a no reserve auction. My starting price is $4200. At that I'm losing money. So why sell? I've got my eye on an 1150GS. Always another bike to buy, you know? Bike is located in Lawrenceville GA, just NE of Atlanta. I will not arrange for shipping, but I'll be glad to work with you if you go that route. GA title clear and in hand. Feel free to ask any questions. (IN the pictures, there is a rear seat bag pictured. It IS NOT included in this sale, unless bidding tops $4500)
