Vehicle Detail

This is a 1969 VW Beetle converted into a Rat Rod pickup truck. It has a 1500 single port VW engine that runs good and does not smoke. It will give a little puff of smoke after sitting for a week or so, but a very simple replacement and nothing to be concerned with. It stars right up idles and run good. The tires are brand new, the wheels are 'old school' aluminum slots that have been polished out. The bed, I made utilizing industrial shelving. The rest of the vehicle is all Volkswagen. The paint is a flat black chalkboard paint. You can use sidewalk color chalk to decorate it anyway to your choosing. Be warned though, at cruisz nites, friends will write some off-color stuff on your truck and you get to drive home with it on your rod. The bench seat is a converted VW reat seat. The emergency brake was move forward to in front of the shifter. The door panels are covered in Idaho potato sacks and the floor mats are Walmart bristle door mats without the "Welcome" sign printed on them. The floorpans had been section replaced where needed with exact replacement panels. All indicator lights are LED: turn signals, running lights, tail lights and underdash floor lights. The center mounted speedometer also has all orange LED lights. Even the glass doorknob shifter has LEDs in it that changes colors from red, yellow, blue and every mix of those colors. The headlight buckets have Halogen lamps in them. I have a metal top cut off of a Chevy S10 pickup that I was going to modify to fit on the Rat Truck, but never got around to it. It goes with the truck if you want it. Also, any boat trim shop can easily make a canvas or vinyl make top for it. I personally like the idea of the removable metal top, but that would be the buyers choice. It is not a perfect truck, but what rat rod is? But it is a good solid, fun little truck to go cruising in. It is currently registered, licensed, and insured (Hagerty) and will draw a crowd and 'thumbs up' every time you drive. Park it beside a Corvette or Camaro at a car show and see who gets all the attention. People love these things. I am sure I left out some details but will add them as I think of them.
