Vehicle Detail

We purchased this a few years back. It is a fuel injected auto stick shift. Mileage indicated by Arizona law is only current recorded value (we can not state if this value is true or not). It was a daily driver, that run very nice and had good mileage but developed a hard shift issue from 2nd to 3rd more then other gears. It would shift better or worse depending on how fast one accelerated. A transmission shop put gauges on the transmission and all checked good. So after talking on a VW forum I found the vacuum modulator for shifting the transmission was the problem area. In putting in a new one I was redoing hose and such on engine top and did some wire and tubing damage after that could not get engine to start, so it has set for last year (just got it back running today read below). The modulator still needs adjustment once the running/starting problem is fixed. The car has two roof rack assemblies neither is on roof at the moment the original had a bent piece and was not finished being replaced or repaired so with both assemblies a complete and good roof rack can be installed. There is no front bumper. Car drove very well with exception of shift point due to old modulator. It has been a while since last worked on it, the engine does turn over but does not start. The previous owner had a cheap pearl overcoat sprayed on and it is peeling and will need rubbed out and re-coated. Minor splitting at seam of passenger seat. Cannot find any rust on floor boards, but if I recall there is small amounts of rust on a couple places on body. Time and money after retirement has kept us from going further so would like to see this go to someone who can enjoy it. IF VIDEO DOES NOT START PLEASE TRY CLICKING ON IT OR EMAIL FOR LARGER VERSION Video was taken this afternoon April 2, 2013. I figured out why engine was not starting, the tank has a blockage in bottom from setting. I found the filter clogged and on line from tank. After replacing filter and cleaning fuel pump. I put the pump in line into some clean gas and engine started right up and runs nice. The tank I have part filled with several bottles of fuel cleaner and a couple gallons of gas in hopes to clear blockage there if that is not good enough the tank will need pulled and flush with a good solvent. The air way from cleaner to throttle body is cracked and will need replaced. Runs bet needs some work to make it drivable.
