Vehicle Detail
· 1963 Chrysler Imperial 4-Door Hardtop V-8 · Stunning 2-Owner · Factory A/C · Low Original Miles · VERY Heavily Optioned · Power Vent Windows – Power Trunk · Beautiful Authentic Original Car - · A car is original only once!! QUESTIONS? CALL IRWIN AT 786-517-7002 This car is far and away one of the rarest and nicest original Imperials in existence. Most of these cars made it only to the junk heap, but this car was lovingly cared for all of its life. This car was maintained by two caring owners and spent most of its life in a climate controlled garage in Washington State. It was kept in impeccable mechanical and cosmetic condition. This car is a beautiful specimen. It is one the prettiest 50 year old cars that you will ever see. The paint on the car is the correct ‘Alabaster’ color (light beige) and causes oohs and ahs everywhere it goes. It is the authentic original color. The interior of the car is a beautiful almond leather and people are always commenting on how unusual and beautiful the color combination looks. The paint was done many years ago and still looks great, except for a few minor flaws that you would expect in a 50 year old car. The interior of the car is very nice. The back seat is original and still looks very nice, showing the kind of wear you would expect in an original collector car of this vintage. The front seat was redone in the almond leather color. The door panels are original and look great. The carpeting is excellent showing no wear. The headliner is original and is absolutely beautiful. This car has one of the most unusual and beautiful dashboards ever made, and it is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, no fading, and no discoloration. It just doesn’t get any nicer in a car of this vintage. The car is equipped with power brakes, power steering, 6-way power seats, power windows, power vent windows, power antenna, power trunk release, beautiful working signal seeking radio, and still has the original clock. All of the power windows (including the vent windows) and the 6 way power seat work flawlessly. The car has the very rare power trunk option that also works perfectly. The original factory wheel covers are in nice shape. It also has the flightsweep trunk option with an excellent center medallion. The car runs superbly. The power brakes have a hard pedal, and the windshield has a crack and may need replacement. The car is equipped with a 413.2 cubic inch overhead valve engine that sports 340 horsepower. The engine is extremely quiet and purrs as it travels down the road at 80 mph. This is one of the best engines ever made and has most of its life still in front of it. The wheelbase on the car is 149.5 inches and can really seat 6 people comfortably and could hold another 3 lying side by side in the trunk for those of you that still try to sneak extra people into the Drive-in. This is a mostly original car with a detailed trunk and engine compartment that was maintained so well you can't believe that it is 50 years old. The trunk floor is in excellent original condition with very nice carpeting. The engine compartment is completely authentic and is in excellent condition. It is ready for any local show. The chrome on the car shines - and although it looks great, it is not perfect because it is original and is 50 years old. The overall bright work on the car is very nice. As far as the A/C is concerned, the air is blowing on all three speeds, but it is not getting cold. This car has won many trophies at local car shows. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED AS FOLLOWS: 413.2 cu.in 8 cylinder engine Power steering, brakes & windows and vent windows Electric clock Pushbutton Torqueflight transmission Dual remote mirror Electric touch push-button radio Full wheel covers and Flight Sweep Trunk HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: The 1963 Imperials were introduced in September, 1962. There were 6,960 units produced. The shipping weight was 4740 pounds and it had an original selling price of $5656.00. The 1963 Chrysler Imperial won the luxury class in the Mobil Gas Economy Run with slightly more then 14 MPG. Improved sales were up 11% from the previous year, but industry position remained unchanged (11th place). ABOUT THE SELLER: In real life I am a school principal.
